Edit: I am trying to work out if the below response from RAY kitchen is trying to be funny or offensive..... You will fix next time via carrier pigeon????
Below average food (first chicken arrived raw in the middle). Where to start?...
We decided to visit as the reviews seemed excellent. How wrong they were!!
You arrive to a very cool place. You seat yourself and have to order by scanning and paying before you receive any food or drink. Order was placed and paid for whilst at least 8 staff just stand together chatting. The staff occasionally walk past you but refuse to make any eye contact. At one point the cleaner came out mopped the whole outside and inside with the same mop, but without putting it in the bucket.. So basically moved the dust all around the whole 350-400m premises leaving dust lines all over the place.
After 35 minutes (i checked the time my bank card accepted the payment), i went inside and asked about our order. That we've not received our coffees and drinks or food. They said their system missed the order. OK, it happens...
The food was delivered to the table about 20 mins later and the chicken I ordered was raw in the middle. I went and got a staff member (the all stand together in the front bar without showing any attention to the clients). I showed the food and the server apologised, left the plate at the table and then went off to the manager. They manager had spent this whole hour on her phone in a corner showing no interest in actually managing the premises. The server came back and said if i want they can make new. Obviously as my partner was eating her food I said yes. The manager brought the new meal out but called the server to bring it to me (after all the mistakes you'd expect the manager to come and address the issues).
Food was below average with packet sauces. Food preparation was amateur. You don't serve ceasar salad on top of hot meat. It was hot soggy and slimy.
If I'd not had to prepay for the food I would have walked out when the raw food arrived.
Maybe it's cool for a...
Read moreMy visit to RAY Kitchen & Bar for breakfast was an absolute delight from start to finish. The place immediately makes a great impression with its open, airy layout and stylish design. The atmosphere perfectly balances relaxation with liveliness, making it ideal for starting the day with good food and positive energy. I especially appreciated the bicycle parking just outside, which adds a thoughtful and practical touch for anyone arriving on two wheels. We ordered traditional Ukrainian sirniky and a salmon sandwich, and both dishes exceeded expectations. The sirniky were wonderfully soft on the inside with a light golden crisp on the outside, served fresh and warm with just the right sweetness. You could genuinely taste the quality of the ingredients. The salmon sandwich was equally impressive – perfectly prepared with rich, fresh salmon, crisp vegetables, and bread that complemented everything without overpowering the flavors. To make it even better, the coffee and cocoa were fantastic – smooth, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The overall service was attentive and friendly, matching the great quality of food and ambience. RAY Kitchen & Bar is one of those places that instantly puts you in a good mood, and I would gladly come back not just for breakfast, but for any casual meet-up or relaxed weekend morning. It’s easily one of the most welcoming and well-designed breakfast...
Read moreI am always willing to oversee bad service if the good is food. In this case the food was not bad but way too simple to make up for the bad service. Smiles from the staff to customers who walk in are not necessary, but they are also compeltely free and certainly have a positive impact. Today thefe was none.
We asked if we can sit on a table that the previous guests just left. They said of course, but we expected the table to be wiped first. We ended up actually having to ask for the table to be wiped from liquids and crumbles that were left. It wasn't much... but still. The staff got a napkin and wiped just the liquids on the table. I mean, at this point I was really hoping the food was worth it.
The scrambled eggs which we ordered was way too plain with just a little bit of salmon. The salmon toast was not bad, but the bread should have bean more fresh, and the knives they brought wasn't cutting it easily.
We also ordered syrniki. 3 small pieces arrived with not much flavor in them. We have had much nicer... even then ones we make at home are better than this.
I guess its also worth mentioning that we ordered coffee with oat milk and got almond milk instead, but lucky us, we didn't mind that.
The flavors were good overall, just nothing impressive, which definitely didn't match their prices. We've had much nicer breakfasts for less.
Not going to...
