Limassol has been established as the metropolis of Cyprus. The outgoing mentality of its residence has allowed for a plethora of establishments catering to many different entertainment styles. One such prevalent category is the traditional English pub, mainly due to the Stockholm-Syndrome-esque relationship Cyprus and England enjoy.

There are quite a few English pubs in Limassol, but not all get it as right as Woodman. Woodman has done a great job in marrying the essence of a traditional pub with the Limassolian sunny weather. There are screens everywhere featuring various sports such as rugby, F1, football (Premier league, Europa league, Champions league, and the much prestigious Cypriot league). Inside one can find the traditional booths, and the enjoyable beer smell. Gracefully the vomit smell featured in many other such pubs is not found here. Its convenient location on the beach front road, opposite the scenic dasoudi area, offers an enjoyable beer-drinking view and ample parking for the lazy Cypriot.

Woodman gave a lot of emphasis on its beer collection and food offerings. There is a comprehensive lager stock, including the author’s favorite Budvar. Its ale collection is weak, but one could argue that is a good thing! Its food offerings is a comprehensive showcase of English cuisine. One can find classics such as Sunday roast, shepherd's pie, fish and chips. However, complimenting English cuisine is an impossible task, so this review will not even attempt it.

No pub can call itself a pub without a burger. The Woodman Burger is a 200g of high quality delicious beef. It is accompanied with a side of coleslaw and thin fried potatoes. For the hungrier patron, there are more variants of the burger that comes with bacon and cheese. The burger is housed in a solid fresh bun, dressed with a complimentary salad and a homemade tomato sauce. A bite of a medium cooked Woodman burger is a ticket for ballet of taste buds. The delicious soury meat is pleasantly complemented by the sweet sauce, while the fresh salad offers the necessary lube for easy digestion. A sip of lager washes down the bite, as if the velvet curtain drops, preparing for the next act. Soon the burger is over, often leaving the gourmand satisfyingly full.

Didn't do food to tonight but normally good. Most staff very good previously but most were particularly bad this evening. Not one good interaction over 3 visits to the table. 1 member of staff very good but disappointed in most of the others who could not be bothered at all with our table or those adjacent to us. Normally very good on 6 or 7 previous visits. Left a tip for the 1 good member if staff who actually gave decent service. Hope the management reviews the staff attitude and address the...

It was a great dinner. The service was good as always. And tonight Jody (the manager) made an exception for me, and she did the best mussels in Cyprus with great hot broth, crispy fries and toasted bread. They didn’t have mussels tonight because of the Football day and special menu. But it was so wonderful that Jody asked the chef to do this exception for the breastfeeding mom.
