Sea Point Restaurant — Restaurant in Lapta-Alsancak-Çamlıbel Belediyesi

Entrance to and from the carpark adjacent the restaurant is via two steep ramps. The main, indoor, restaurant has polished wooden floors and wooden ceiling with a view out to sea. In the centre of the room is a wood burning stove, which must add to the cosy atmosphere in the winter. Steep steps lead down to a large lower decking area stretching out over the water, a section of glass floor runs the width of the decking, which was a nice touch, especially when water level flood lights were illuminated.

We were shown to our table, on the lower decking, then waited several minutes before we were approached by a waiter (it wasn't busy), which seemed strange as the waiters were just chatting to each other The service, when it arrived, was professional but, like its sister restaurant the Calamari, it seemed to lack that Cypriot warmth. This is not a criticism, just an observation.

The meals were all served at the same time, were well presented and appetising. My youngest tells me the fried ice cream was heavenly. Note boards at the front of the restaurant are out of date, so don't be guided by them.

We were really looking forward to our visit. The view is absolutely stunning and the starters were actually very good, especially the calamari. There was a bit of confusion when we were charged for two portions even though the menu clearly said it was a choice of single or double. After some back and forth with the waiter, this was thankfully sorted out.

Unfortunately, the main courses were a real letdown. I know it’s not the best idea to order a burger at a fish restaurant, but I really fancied one. It turned out to be one of the worst I’ve had. My wife went for the sea bream, which was bland and came with just five chips on the plate. For the price we paid, we expected something a lot better both in portion and presentation.

AVOID. Beautiful setting, staff were polite and helpful however the food was the worst we have had. Jumbo prawn starter was like mush and tasteless. The fish mains were over cooked and we were told it was not, it's because it's fresh fish...... It was like rubber, we had to saw through it to cut it. Tasteless and just horrible. They did apologise but still charged full price for food we couldn't eat. We wondered why it wasn't that busy but next door was packed. I read previous reviews hence why we went. They seem to have addressed the service issue as they were using radios and had many staff. The scene is great but the food is terrible. It was the most expensive meal we have had from any fish restaurant. I'd try calamari restaurant next door if you don't drive as it was packed (we didn't but wish we had of instead of here).
