Hanımeller Restaurant Cafe and Bar — Restaurant in Lapta-Alsancak-Çamlıbel Belediyesi

It is located in a very nice spot on the sea and a beach below in the Lapta (Lapithos area). They serve both meat and fish and on Sundays they advertise their kleftiko (goat's meat cooked in wood oven for hours but we haven't tried. The seabream and voppa was OK however, very disappointed that they don't do octapus, ink fish or squid (they do squit but only rings) which you expect to find in a place called fish restaurant. The price was reasonable, and a selection of sweets and also the fruit (strawberries that day) is offered from the house. The service was slow and communicating in English very problematic (as in most places in the North), and different waiters were caring for us all the time ending up with a lot of misunderstanding. we came here for turkish breakfast, made a reservation before. when we came, they told us we cannot get 3 plates of breakfast because it was 7 of us. we told them that kids don't eat breakfast and its why we order only three plates. they tried to convince us to order 6 plates or we couldn't get anything. why am i in a restaurant that tells me what to order? if we don't want a lot of stuff on our table, why force us to? after 30 minutes they let us order five plates, and charged us for that😐and it was still a lot, and there was so much food wasted. unfortunately, we were disappointed with the service. but the place...

Having specifically stated that if the Rock Bass (costing 160tl) was a frozen fish we would not order it as we would only do so if the fish was fresh. We were assured it was fresh! It took 45 minutes to arrive, which was worrying in itself, and when it did eventually appear it was obvious it was not a fresh fish. It had been overcooked and as stiff as a board.
