I just had a very awful experience at the restaurant and my intention is to write this review as food for thought and sincere feedback rather than attack anyone. I arrived at the shop at 20:15 and there was a huge queue which I patiently waited to give my order. I stood in front of the cashier at 20:30 and asked for a burger and chips, like most people before me. The moment i said it is for takeaway the cashier changed attitude and said oh if it is for take away its gonna take about half an hour cause there are a lot of orders before mine. This was very strange and i was taken aback as i have never seen this in my 45 years in 3 different countries i have lived in, so i asked the cashier, why are you telling me this and not the people before me, what is the difference between sit in and take away. A burger and chips is still a burger and chips, it shouldn't matter if i eat it in a tray there or in a box at home. He informed me that I will have to wait 30 minutes, which was normal as there were a lot of orders and I was fine with waiting. 25 minutes later I noticed that the man that was after me in the queue just got his beef burger and chips (there is only one beef burger on the menu). A few minutes later the girl working next to the cashier waved me in as I was waiting outside watching from the window. She asked me if I wanted my burger to eat in or take away. I said take away and then I complained to her that it wasn't right that the man who ordered after me got his exact same order before me. At that point the cashier jumped in the conversation and started defending himself, saying he is not the one preparing the food etc. I pointed out that this was not a matter of food preparation but about giving priority to people who eat in to those who take away the food, which is UNFAIR. I was irritated at that point but I was not rude or abusive to anyone. I was making a point which he didn't like. I made the mistake of calling the man (agori mou / my boy) which is an expression in Greek, like anthrwpe mou, file mou etc which is actually trying to be friendly rather than rude. I must have hit a nerve because the cashier found this degrading and started yelling at me that he is 43 years old, he is married, he has 3 children etc and basically played the card that customers don't respect people who work in restaurants etc. This is obviously his own complex as I have worked all my life in similar positions in bars and restaurants and customer service and I know exactly how to be respectful. I do understand that the employee might have had a bad day etc, but the behaviour of the owner is what ruined my impression of this restaurant. The owner who is also a chef was working in the far corner and instead of calming down his employee he called me over and was trying to calm me down. I calmly tried to explain to him what happened but the cashier came next to us and continued yelling in front of his boss I presume, needing to show that he is not scared and he doesn't care and no one can tell him off as he is 43 blah blah blah. As a suggestion to the owner, in a fast food restaurant there is no difference between eating in, in a paper bowl or eating home in a take away paper box. The rule should be first come first served. I paid exactly 15.50 euros, the same as the person eating the burger in the restaurant. Also, even though I don't believe that the customer is always right, you should not allow your employees to attack your customers in such a way for pointing out the obvious. On a different note, the burger and chips were amazing but unfortunately I will not be returning to your shop after this experience. Before I left with my food I apologised to the cashier even though I was right in this case. The owner should have apologised to me if he was a...
Read moreAbsolutely phenomenal experience at Stavri’s Kitchen! Without a doubt, the best burgers in town and possibly on the island. I had the Baconnaise Black Angus Burger, and it was nothing short of perfection: juicy, full of flavour, and beautifully balanced. We also ordered the Flank Steak, cooked to absolute perfection, tender and packed with depth. Although it was one of the pricier options on the menu, definitely worth considering the 3 side dishes it comes with!
The fries deserve a special mention, their seasoning was simply insane; the kind of detail that shows the chef’s meticulous touch. Service was exceptional from start to finish: warm, attentive, and genuinely professional.
Didn’t expect anything less from one of the best chefs on the island. A masterclass in flavour, consistency, and...
Read moreAtmosphere is not that nice for 2 reasons! First inside the place was hot even though 2 A/C units were working on 21 degrees…probably because of the kitchen! Second the acoustic of the space is really bad. Because it’s “empty” you hear the music and can’t talk with the people on your table. Everything sounds like chaos in there together!
Food quality was nice although on the taste, which is something personal, I maybe had more expectations… Portions are definitely small compared to the prices and the competitors! Options are not many. I would like to have more options or I had expectations as I said!
For sure I will visit again to check another one time but the best we had was the chicken burger which tasted really good!...
