Charcoal House — Restaurant in Mesa Geitonia

We dropped by the place by coincidence, because it was the closest to our hotel, the Ajax hotel.Its right opposite the street.We were hungry after the flight,the place was still not full, early afternoon.In few minutes,we felt not only like at home,but we were in love with the food.The owner, Anthony,gave us the warmest, the friendliest service and made us to come back every day.The place is side from all the tourist area,but absolutely local, authentic and Cyprian.In the evening, the doors are open,or you can enjoy the fully air-conditioned closed inside part of the place.Food is traditional,all about great ingredients from the local farmers.Beer and drinks are flying as time does and you don't want to leave.Worth to visit and experience the real...

Awful experience. Got a pork stake and it was raw!! Instead of apologizing they told me "why didn't you say something so we can put it on the grill some more"!!!! The stake also smelled like half-burned charcoal. Advise: have your charcoals light up completely before you put any food on them. Otherwise you are serving all the chemicals from the charcoal along with the food.

But seriously? You serve RAW pork and you have the nerve to blame the customer for not letting you know "sooner"?

The pork and chicken souvlaki was nothing special either. No one from our table wanted to even touch the french fries either.

Stay away and go to places you get value for money. Not everyone is made to run...

As much as a surprise in Cyprus this place made me feel absolutely unwelcome as a foreigner (staying at a hotel across the street). First of all food was overpriced and pretty obviously just warmed a little before served. The owner of the place was smoking cigars on one of the tables inside so none of the waiters paid attention to my table. Overall - bad and expensive food, tobacco smell all over the place and absolute disregard to the customer. Definitely not the warn Cypriot welcome one would...
