Went bouldering here on my vacation with both my parents. When you first arrive the part of the city it is located in doesn't look inviting at all, old dilapidated buildings, random piles of rubble, dim lighting etc. But this is nothing like the gym. The entrance is to the right of a slope with a garage door at the end spelling out LCC. As of writing this it is the only public bouldering gym at this side of Cyprus. The local boulderers are friendly and share their chalk with everyone else. Renting shoes is possible and it is, to my amazement included in the price of the gym (€15). The renting shoes are awesome, they are from the famous brand: la sportiva, they perform close to the perfection of your very own bouldering shoes.
About the wall, the wall has insane features, it has much more to offer as your run of the mill climbing gym. Giant campus roof, mega traverse section, overhang, overhang, overhang. Just look at the pics. It is quite well cleaned, no dust no sand. Though it is of course a bit more old school which shows in the walls and holds looking well used and sometimes a bit dirty from shoe soles. No grain on the walls so only bad smearing. A few easy boulders (maybe 3-5) for people going for their first time. Though there is tons of super difficult hard bouldering for the gym rats and boulder veterans. There was more than enough for me, I usually climb about 6c-6c+. Most grades felt fair sometimes a bit hard.
No luxurious facilities like kilter boards or a bar, though there is a small but useful campus board, fitness mats and weights.
There are so many boulders here that it can be difficult to find the route. The boulders are set really creatively and powerful. Maybe a little few crimp boulders but that could just be me.
An experience I will never forget, thanks for the...
Read moreThis climbing gym is a hidden gem in Limassol! For just €15, you can climb all day and even rent shoes. Or for €60 per month, you can get membership (with a key) that allows access at any time. It has an old style feel, but it's clear that the gym was made with love.
There's a wide variety of challenging routes, making it suitable for both beginner and experienced climbers, and they are changed often, so there's always something fresh to try!
If you're new to climbing, the routes can be tough, but everyone there is super friendly and happy to help.
They even have a Moonboard set at 40 degrees with a full set of 2019 holds.
They have a clean bathroom, storage for your belongings, and a nice seating area. There's also yoga mats, bands, and weights if you want to mix it up or warm up prior to your climb.
It can get a bit hot when there's a lot of people, but they have powerful fans and AC. Overall, it's a great...
Read moreExcellent gym, everyone is super friendly and helpful when you need it, €15 euros for a day pass and to borrow shoes it is free, on the topic of shoes all the gyms I’ve been to in the UK always supply the cheapest worn out shoes possible here they have plenty of options for beginners shoes up to what I would consider professional or comp shoes, the space although quite small is absolutely packed with great routes for all ability’s I was amazed at how well they utilize the small space they have, massive props to the setters plenty of equipment to warm up with and some sofas to rest and chill out, even though I was the only tourist in there I didn’t feel like an outsider at all everyone was super welcoming especially the staff. Just an all around excellent gym well worth the trip if you are in the south of Cyprus a...
