TGI Fridays - Nicosia Mall (Lakatamia) — Restaurant in Nicosia

Place was quite full. They got us a table near the entrance. Not great but ? Prices are up. Onion rings €5.30.. OK fine prices are up but alas portions are down used to be a plate full of onion rings but now ? Down to half.. count em ... shame.. come on TGI Its only an onion .. cheap product.. at €5.30 euros u can afford to give more . Burger looked gigantic .. but only bcs there was 2 slices of tomato and a bunch of lettuce which made it all look 4 cm taller..chips oagain on the short side.. but it was ok .. ribs and prawns were also nice .... a little short on prawns for €21.50 for a plate.. oh and now u are forced or should I say embarrassed into leaving a tip.. u have to choose from 4 items on the cr card machine.. why ? That way out of order.. wrong wrong wrong.. the waiteress took the ordey and brought the order. Took the dirties away. She did what she is employed to do. There was no interacting.. no how is everything sir. No can i get u anything else no how was your meal .. no come again.. so i think its up to my discretion to leave a tip. Not managments . Portions are smaller ... prices are higher.. ...

We wanted to plan a nice get together lunch for my daughter’s birthday today. The kids were 13-14 years old. The waiter did not go to the table to introduce herself and explain how to get orders. I had to go as parent and bring the waiter to hand out menus; only 2 for 10 persons, to take orders and suggested some platters to share for starters. Cutlery were not enough for all, we had to ask again. Glasses for water were not enough again we had to ask. The same happened for main dish ordering. As we were sitting in another table (as concerned parents) we asked them to bring the cakes. Nobody took the birthday cakes to the table. We had to do it. We thought ok as we were allowed to bring our cakes. Then even when the kids started to cut the birthday cake we had to ask for plates, cutlery and order drinks. This is the first time I have expensive a bad service from TGI restaurant. We paid a big bill and even left a tip for the waiter(a) but she/they didn’t work...

I visited TGI Fridays at the Nicosia Mall on December 3, 2024, at 9:00 PM. The restaurant closes at 10:00 PM, but at 9:35 PM, the staff started clearing tables around us, cleaning dishes, and sweeping the floor right next to us while we were still eating.

I found this behavior unacceptable, disrespectful, and extremely rude toward customers. It felt as though they were trying to force us to leave in their own way, which was incredibly frustrating. I wanted to walk out in annoyance, as the atmosphere became very uncomfortable. What made the situation worse was that they started these closing duties well before the official closing time of 10:00 PM.

This is not the first time I’ve experienced this at the same restaurant, and this second incident compelled me to write this review. Such practices show a lack of respect for customers who come to enjoy their meals, and it left me very disappointed.
