Γευσηκλέους 62 — Restaurant in Strovolos

Last night, my husband and I visited this restaurant ( on a friend's very high recommendation) in order to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When we arrived, we were shown to our table which apparently, was the one and only table for two and it was placed right in the entrance in front of the door way! It was completely isolated from all the other tables and was placed in an area which was for people coming and going. We immediately asked if there was another table but, we were told that this was the only table for two in the entire restaurant! We were not happy and announced that we were leaving. What I assume was the head waiter insisted that it was a good table and that we would enjoy ourselves. I insisted that the table was placed in an area which was not intended for a table. He replied that the day before, five people had sat at that very table ( perhaps they didn't have a reservation? ).I asked him if he would be happy setting up a table in his own home right in the hallway in front of his front door. However, in the end, we decided to remain as it was Saturday evening and we did not fancy driving around Nicosia on the busiest night of the week, searching for a restaurant. The food was good and at some stage, what we believed to be the manager came to offer his deepest apologies. I said that the food was good but, where we were sat was very disrespectful and demeaning ( it was like having our own little leper colony). He further apologised and explained that the table configurations would not allow for a table for two anywhere else and that the alternative would have been to refuse us to which, I replied that, a refusal would have been far better as we could have gone elsewhere. Yes, they tried to make some kind of amends by giving us a free dessert to share but, it does not make amends for a completely spoiled evening. The service was terrible... although we had a reservation 1week ago, because we were a large group...they very rudely and desmisevely informed us when we were seated that they could only serve us meze.They sed that if we wanted a full meal we would have to wait 2 hours to eat...( This for a reservation they were informed about a full week in advance and had 2 phone calls in between to verify...they never mentioned anything about not being able to accommodate us over the phone). Needless to say we were all very disappointed because while every other table around us was served normally, we were treated like second class customers and although the quality of the food was ok, not one of us is ever going back to this...

First time visiting this restaurant and chose the meze option. I have nothing to mention about the quality of the food, everything was excellent. However I have to mention that the meat quantity of meze was poor for me. I usually don't eat every single plate at a meze option and I am waiting for the meats. This time I had no choice to eat a lot of the other dishes because the meat selection for 2 people was this, 1 wine panceta cut in 2 pcs, 1 chicken thigh cut in 2 pcs, 2 lamp chops, 2 sheftalia and 1 skewer pork souvlaki to share. That was a good experience because of the quality and dedication cooks are showing while cooking which is obvious but i feel like not going back for...
