Dear owner of Hvězda restaurant,

as a representative of asian community, I most enjoyed the willingness and pleasantness of the staff. However, the only thing I would rebuke is lack of my mum’s spaghetti, I love the most.

As a sign of how seriously I admire you, I public here the spaghetti sauce recipe of my own mommy.

“To make the best spaghetti sauce, you simply need to brown the ground beef and drain off any excess fat. Then, throw in the chopped celery, onion, and garlic and cook until the vegetables soften. So far, so good? Dump the rest of the homemade pasta sauce ingredients into the pot and bring the mixture to a boil. Once the spaghetti sauce is boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer on the stove for another 3 hours. I know 3 hours sounds like forever, but that’s how long it takes to make a rich, flavorful meat sauce. Once the homemade spaghetti sauce has had time to simmer, all that’s left to do is boiling the spaghetti noodles according to package instructions and dish it up!”

To conclude, this restaurant is the best place I have ever been apart from playground next to my house.

We visited the restaurant during business trip to Cheb and got recommendation from colleagues to go to Hvezda. I liked the atmosphere of the place, staff was nice and serving. Menu with not too many items, however all you may need from lighter dishes through typical Czech ones up to steak. Speciality is the fried Gouda, which I had and can confirm was very tasty as we're the chips. My colleagues dish was pork tenderloin and she also liked it very much. Wine selection was good enough with a few Czech and also international wines. We had prosecco and Moravian Sauvignon Blanc, both very cool wines. When you pay by card you cannot give a tip, which happened to me and I was sorry for that, because they definitely deserved it. Overall I liked it very much and can only recommend...

Das Restaurant ist mit einem Wort: ein Traum.

Speisen: Die Gerichte wirken wie hausgemacht, schmecken hervorragend und sind in den Portionen gut abgestimmt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Abwechslung: Neben einigen festen Gerichten wechselt die Speisekarte wöchentlich, was den Reiz eines erneuten Besuchs zusätzlich steigert.

Service: Das Personal ist äußerst freundlich und spricht neben Tschechisch auch Deutsch. Eine deutsche Speisekarte ist verfügbar, was den Aufenthalt für deutschsprachige Gäste angenehm macht.

Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten: Für englischsprachige Gäste könnte der Besuch eine Herausforderung darstellen, da nur wenige Mitarbeiter Englisch sprechen und auch keine englischsprachige Speisekarte angeboten wird.

Insgesamt ein außergewöhnliches Restaurant, das durch Qualität und Gastfreundschaft überzeugt.

English The restaurant can be described in one word: a dream.

Food: The dishes taste homemade, are of excellent quality, and well-portioned. One standout feature is the variety: besides a few staple dishes, the menu changes weekly, which greatly enhances the appeal of a return visit.

Service: The staff is extremely friendly and speaks both Czech and German. A German menu is available, making the experience particularly pleasant for German-speaking guests.

Areas for Improvement: For English-speaking guests, the visit might be a bit challenging, as only a few staff members speak English, and there is no English menu available.

Overall, an exceptional restaurant that impresses with its quality and hospitality.

Čeština Restauraci lze popsat jedním slovem: sen.

Jídlo: Jídla chutnají jako domácí, jsou vynikající kvality a mají vyvážené porce. Zvláštním bodem je rozmanitost: kromě několika stálých jídel se menu mění každý týden, což výrazně zvyšuje lákavost opakované návštěvy.

Obsluha: Personál je velmi přátelský a mluví česky i německy. K dispozici je německé menu, což činí zážitek obzvláště příjemným pro německy mluvící hosty.

Prostor pro zlepšení: Pro anglicky mluvící hosty by návštěva mohla být trochu obtížnější, protože jen málo zaměstnanců mluví anglicky a není k dispozici menu v angličtině.
