Komplex areálu Větruše tvoří zámeček s rozhlednou, restaurací a hotelem.
The complex of Větruše site is made up of a small castle with a lookout tower, a restaurant and a hotel. The tower is freely accessible, so my first steps were heading there, unfortunately its top is glazed and the windows that can not be opened, so the view from the terrace in front of the hotel is even more impressive (it is more wide open). I did not plan a meal, but I gave myself one traveler's small beer, and it was so delicious that I had to make myself to go out and did not give them more ones. If the food is just as delicious (which according to guests' reactions is), then hat down. The hotel has 42 double rooms in four-star standard. The castle is also used for organizing various seminars and social events.
Větruše is one of the favorite starting points for trips to the Czech Mid-land Mountains (České středohoří). Besides a lookout tower and a restaurant with a panoramic terrace, the complex also features a mirror and natural maze for children, a playground and a medieval execution area. From Větruše you can comfortably continue along marked tourist routes eg to the largest waterfall of the České středohoří - Vaňovský vodopád, or the Větruše - Vrkoč Nature Trail to the romantic ruins of Střekov Castle.
The building in today's historicist style with Art Nouveau elements was created by the reconstruction of the original Empire restaurant by the Ústí Mountains Association between 1896 and 1897. It was designed by architect Alwin Kohler. After World War I, it spread to the southern wing. Since the 80's the site has been dilapidated, it has been saved up to a total reconstruction funded by the city of Ústí nad Labem in 2002. A funicular (cable car) from the city center has been put into service eight years after that, the hotel was...
Read moreControversary feelings I left, the restaurant (part of a nice hotel) was a perfect location with a nice view over the city. The equipment of the place could make it a real good restaurant and I also feel terrible sorry for it's chef, as the cuisine the tastes were really fine. However the service was much below the category level. First I asked from the menu fresh orange juice. The answer was by the laughing waiter that they are too busy now to provide such juice, so it's not available. We asked different things. The soups arrived earlier then the drinks. After that they realized that one of our ordered dishes are not available. Maybe the waiter was not informed earlier, but it's a joke at this level. We asked a carafe of water, they brought first soda, when we said that we asked for still water, they brought again soda, but not half litre but a litre. Basically a lot of young waiters and waitresses are there but without a proper, knowledgeable, and experienced staff, it was visible that they are there but not to serve guests just to wait...
Read moreThis restaurant provides a delightful blend of traditional Czech cuisine and a scenic view that enhances the dining experience. The braised beef with green beans, roasted potatoes, and creamy herb sauce is a beautifully balanced dish with hearty flavors and fresh ingredients. The roasted duck paired with red cabbage and potato dumplings is a classic, delivering rich and comforting flavors.
To end the meal, the apple strudel served with whipped cream and ice cream offers a sweet and satisfying finish, perfectly combining warm pastry with cool creaminess.
The panoramic view of the surrounding area adds to the restaurant’s charm, making it an ideal spot for enjoying authentic Czech dishes while taking in the beautiful landscape. Highly recommended for a relaxing and...
