Café & Brasserie Gazou — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

I had one of the worst service experiences at this café. We arrived at 12:30 and waited 30 minutes without anyone acknowledging us, despite the waitress standing just 1.5 meters away. Eventually, I approached her to ask when someone would take our order, only to be told — abruptly — that we had to order at the counter.

We ordered the dish of the day, but she curtly informed us it was only available in the evening, even though it was clearly written on the blackboard both outside and inside the café. After placing our order, we waited another 45 minutes for a beer and water, which only arrived because we followed up.

Despite asking about our food three times, it finally arrived at 14:00 — an hour and a half after we arrived. The food was okay, but the service was shockingly bad. The staff acted as if our presence was an inconvenience, and not once did they apologize.

The café is small, with only around 8 tables, and it wasn’t busy at all. There were three staff members working, so there was no excuse for the lack of attention or care.

If you are looking for a beautiful and sunny place for your morning coffee, this is for you! It is located in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. We visited two times, at the first one on a cold Saturday morning, when we sat inside and the atmosphere was really cozy. it was quite busy so coming early is a must! The other time was on a weekday and stayed outside to enjoy the sun! Everything we had was tasty, and the coffee is really good! We went Saturday at lunch and waited 30 minutes before anyone told us to order at the desk. After ordering we waited one more hour for the beer and two salads. There was a card on wall advertising the week’s special, but as we ordered it, we were told that it’s an “evening thing”. One and a half hour to get two easy lunch dishes is not acceptable, especially if no one says one word to apologise for the waiting. Staff incredibly rude and non caring.
