Cafe Sirius is a nice recessed drop in and hang out spot that serves carefully prepared sandwiches and dishes for lunch and hang out snacks. Nina is the owner and she is warm and friendly. People of all ages come here to eat and socialize but they can also read any of the current stacks of magazines and newspapers. They also provide any number of board games so that playful pairs or small groups can while away the free hours with Monopoly,Clue,Uno and Scrabble. Because Corvid19 is afoot, service is limited to outdoors, but they served customers outside normally. I like the chicken sandwich best because it is served like a French dish, lovely presentation but lots to eat. I enjoy those sandwiches so much! Pizza adn traditional Danish frokost is the hallmark of this Danish and English speaking well lighted unusual hideaway. (They provide outlets to boot your phone or do online work. Free WiFi.) I always remember places that have clean, tasteful decor in restrooms. Cafe Sirius has a clean and spacious one, unlike some where the upkeep is clearly lacking and hand towels or tissue may or may not be available. The counter staff and servers are cordial and patient. People do do social distancing, but only recently have they been mandated to wear masks as well as the customers. Oh, yes, they play swell music from all the periods, 40s 50s 60s 70s ,80s and 90s. I have enjoyed the riffs of Della Reese and the electronic guitar seduction of Prince, the artist formerly known as a sex god rocker. So, go and tell Nina that the Oracle sent you(she knows me...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a place that feels like stepping into your grandmother’s cosy living room, this restaurant is it. The quirky charm of mismatched second-hand furniture, some slightly worn and even a little dirty, creates an endearing and nostalgic vibe. It’s a spot where every corner tells a story, making it a delightful change from overly polished, cookie-cutter eateries.
The brunch menu is the star here, offering a delightful mix of classics with a twist. Their use of exotic fruits like dragon fruit is a standout, adding vibrant colors and unique flavors to the dishes. It's clear they put thought into their offerings, and the quality shines through in every bite.
However, the experience isn’t without its hiccups. The staff, while friendly, are often too busy to provide attentive service. Getting their attention at the counter can require some patience, so don’t visit if you’re in a hurry.
The biggest drawback, though, is the lack of proper air conditioning or ventilation. Each visit leaves you with the distinct smell of bacon clinging to your clothes – not ideal if you have plans afterwards. It’s a shame because this issue really detracts from the otherwise pleasant experience.
If you’re willing to overlook the ventilation woes for a charming, homely atmosphere and delicious brunch, this spot is worth a visit. Just don’t forget to air out your...
Read moreI had a Nordvest Burger.
When I first looked at this place, I was surprised by their prices in comparison to surrounding options. After eating there, I can say that the price difference is well justified.
First, the food itself. The burger and potato wedges were both very good, and the portions are more than generous. This is especially true for the burger, which is 250g's worth of meat. That thing was massive!
Second, the location. The restaurant itself is a warm, cozy place. I felt relaxed just being there.
Third, the staff. I was met with smiles and helpful people all around. I felt like a welcome guest.
All in all, I would very much recommend this place. It's not too far from Nørrebro Station, so please, make a...
