The food we got was wonderful, absolutely 10/10. Unfortunately, the dining experience is the exact opposite. We went for izakaya, not sushi, so you might find a different experience on the sushi side.
For izakaya, the menu is a bit limited: basically kushiyaki (grilled meat or vegetables on skewers), gyoza, tempura (shrimp or veggie), and a couple of side dishes, though you can also order from the sushi menu as well. The miso soup was some of the best I've ever had, and the gyoza were quite good. The kushiyaki were all delicious (we tried the oyster mushroom, beef, scallop, and goat cheese and parma ham), but they were mostly smaller than the pictures on the menu--for example, the goat cheese and parma ham skewer (34 kroner) came with one small piece on the end of the skewer about the size of a 5 kroner coin. Expect to spend ~300-450 per person for a full meal with a couple of drinks. Although the prices are a bit high, they're not totally unreasonable for the quality of the food.
The prices are unreasonable, however, for the quality of the dining experience, which is terrible. They don't have printed menus, and they don't have a waiter or anyone manning the izakaya side to take orders. You have to use your phone for everything. The online ordering system is really inconvenient, especially for an izakaya, where you're going to make several orders over the course of the night. The different food options are all buried in different sub-menus with no ability to quickly hop between them, so navigating around deciding what to get is a chore. Because you also have to execute the order and pay on the phone, you have go through a checkout process and enter your information all over again for every small order. (Minor annoyance: it also adds a charge for a bag on every order--I guess it's because they use the same system for take-away.) The amount of time spent hunched over a phone screen when we wanted to be enjoying dinner was really unpleasant.
In the end, we only made two orders in total, because we waited 52 minutes for one of the dishes from our second order to arrive. There was no waiter to check on us, so at the 40 minute mark we finally flagged someone down to ask about it. It turned out she hadn't seen the second order, and when she went to see what happened, she told us they had no record of our second order at all--even though one of the dishes from the order had already arrived, so it must have gotten to the kitchen somehow. We had to get out the mobilepay receipt and tell her the order again (and what was missing) just to get it replaced. Unsurprisingly, we didn't take our chances on a...
Read moreWhat a wonderful place to have found! The sushi is amazing, the service friendly and helpful and the decoration lovely. You order and pay using your phone, it is not complicated at all, but if for some reason you have difficulties the waiter is there to take your order and answer questions. The prices are perfect for the great quality that you can expect.
There are two options: the restaurant or the bar. They have separate entrances next to each other and they offer different menu items. The restaurant is more for sushi, bowls, skewers and so on. The bar offers other types of warm food and fewer sushi options. You can check the menu online for an idea of what you want to order.
This is definitely a hidden gem that I plan to visit as often as I can!...
Read moreWe were there for lunch on a friday, theyre open for lunch in the weekends currently. Ordering and paying with a table specific qr-code, very convenient, and gives an authentic japan vibe!
We got the bento offer + some sides like yaki skewers and everything was so good and high quality!! My favorite was the scallop skewer, you could really taste that it was grilled in the japanese coal grill. For drinks we got gin&tonics where we could choose the tonic from several interesting options and they were also veeery nice, tasted like vacation. The food also came FAST!
Please if youre considering this place, go go go! We need to support them, it was empty when we were there 😭 i want to keep going there in...
