Frederiksberg Garden is among the most enchanting and serene parks in all of Copenhagen. Spanning nearly 64 hectares, this landscape garden offers a peaceful, almost romantic atmosphere with winding paths, wide lawns, lakes, and classical sculptures tucked beneath ancient trees. It feels both natural and curated; a space where history and quiet beauty coexist. The garden was originally designed in the early 18th century in the baroque style for King Frederik IV, whose summer residence, Frederiksberg Palace, still stands elegantly on the hill overlooking the park. Later, the grounds were reshaped into an English-style landscape garden during the reign of King Christian VII, reflecting the more naturalistic tastes of the time. The park has long-standing royal connections: Frederiksberg Palace itself served as a royal summer residence, and it was here that the future King Frederik VI spent much of his childhood. In fact, the young prince often played in the very gardens that today are open to the public. It was also a favorite walking place of King Christian IX and his consort, Queen Louise, sometimes called "the in-laws of Europe" for marrying their children into many European royal families. Another historical curiosity is the Chinese Pavilion, built in 1803, a small teahouse in the style of the chinoiserie trend that swept through European courts. It reflects the Danish royals’ fascination with the exotic and was once used for private tea gatherings. Today, while the royalty has long moved out, the elegance and calm remain. Locals come here to picnic, stroll, or watch swans and herons glide across the canals — unaware that they’re walking through what was once a royal playground and a witness to centuries of Danish monarchical life.

Frederiksberg Gardens is a true oasis in the heart of Copenhagen and a must-visit for anyone seeking tranquility and natural beauty. The gardens are beautifully maintained, with lush green lawns, picturesque pathways, and serene lakes that create a peaceful atmosphere perfect for a relaxing stroll or a picnic. One of the highlights is the chance to see Frederiksberg Palace perched on a hill, offering a stunning backdrop to the gardens. The romantic bridges and charming little islands add to the enchantment of the space, while the resident swans and ducks bring a touch of wildlife. Whether you're looking to unwind, enjoy nature, or explore a piece of Copenhagen’s history, Frederiksberg Gardens is the perfect spot. It's a delightful escape from the city's hustle and bustle and a place you'll want to return to again and again.

To cut a long story short: Der "Frederiksberg-Park" bietet eine angenehme Mischung aus natürlicher Schönheit und historischem Charme.
