normann's — Restaurant in Hjørring Municipality

FYI- I will be stating my ethnicity during this review; My partner(white) and I(African) arrived today after a long train ride from Copenhagen. We didn’t know there was an event going on in the town. Due to this all the restaurants were fully booked. As we were searching for a place, I came upon this restaurant and noticed a couple of tables empty and decided to go and ask if there was available seatings while my partner checked the next place that was a kebab take away place.

I went in and after 10mins the guy came to punch in some orders he took from the tables. I asked him if there is a table for two, he then said they are dirty n he have to clean them first. I told him we don’t mind and is willing to wait, then he told me he is sorry n that they are less staff, I tried to explain that we are tourists and just arrived n every place is booked, so if he can help us, dude was like ” no, no I’m sorry I can’t “

As I was on my way out 3 white guest walked in and asked for an available table, I heard him saying no to them, but on our way back fram grabbing pizza at the kebab place, There sat these 3 people on a table eating at this same restaurant where he said he didn’t have time to help 2 people.

PS; I understand the town is small and might not be used to foreigners but dude cannot use being less staff as an excuse. The restaurant was not super busy and for someone who have 8 years experience in the hospitality industry both hotels and restaurants, I could single handily take care of all the seated guests(30 +-) without breaking a sweat.

Very shitty and disgusting...

We just got back in Hirtshals from our honeymoon and wanted to eat a little something. We came across the incredibly good Norman's. The host welcomed us warmly and responded to our wishes (fish & chips with extra sauce). In the time when we had been waiting for the food (15 min), a really very good rum was recommended to us on request. At the same time, it must be said that the offer at "Norman's" is really excellent. Not only the excellent cuisine is recommended, but also the spirits offered there. If we didn't live so far away, we would go to "Norman's" every Friday. Conclusion: The restaurant can really be recommended. The food and drinks are first class. The host is a dear soul of man and you immediately feel comfortable. The ambience is cozy and you can really pass the time there. When we're here again, let's go to...

Lækre lokaler💪 en sød servitrice, som var alene og slet ikke kunne følge med i en fyldt restaurant selvom hun gjorde hvad hun kunne, ros til hende for at forsøge. Vi, min hustru og jeg, fik en stor snackkurv til forret, klassisk friture med cheese tops, panerede løgringe, panerede blæksprutte ringe, panerede kyllingestykker, og chickenwings, 3stk af hver og et par dressinger, ganske hæderligt🙂 efter lang ventetid, vi overvejede at gå, ankom hovedretten som var en blt sandwich med kylling. Den bestod af to små skiver ristede franskbrød!! smurt med mayo, en yderst sprød frissesalat og et par gode skiver frisk tomat, desværre var kyllingen 3-4 stk af den samme panerede friturestegte kylling som snackurven også indeholdte, samt 3-4 stykker sejt tørt friturestegt bacon!! Køkkenet virkede på ingen måde oppe i gear og i de næsten to timer vi var der klarede køkkenet max 10 serveringer og der var stor utilfredshed blandt folk over ventetiden, vi var ikke de eneste hvor maden ikke faldt i god jord, vi kunne se flere som havde efter ladt halve og hele portioner af både burgers og Stjerneskud 🙂 desværre ikke et sted vi kommer til at besøge yderligere da de andre 5-6 restauranter/cafeer i Hirtshals faktisk laver mad i en fantastisk kvalitet. Det er nu prøvet og i vores optik dumpet, det vil ikke kræve meget at hæve standarden betydeligt, men på nuværende tidspunkt bliver det et nej tak herfra🙂 Regningen lød på 617 kroner som var...
