An No — Restaurant in Roskilde Municipality

surprisingly good Vietnamese Street food! I was together with some friends and our kids play together. By evening we were very hungry. we were 4 adults 7 kids . we took half an hour to find what to eat tonight . I just want to get something to eat close to Copenhagen central where we live. Mostly because we were tired and the kids too. but 2 of my friends suggested that we should drive to a restaurant in Roskilde ,which is 30 minutes away from where we live, and that restaurant worth the time to get there. I wasn't much for that but took off with them anyway. An experience I didn't expect. There was perfect atmosphere from the moment I stepped into the restaurant. all my childhood memories just came back. The wonderful smell of street food from kitchen, those picture on the walls, those chairs, the floor. so simple and wonderful at the same time. The menu was simple and easy to understand. not so many dishes. but all sounds good to me 😋 The lady in the kitchen came out and told us some different dishes that we should try and we took some other to try out the menu. Every single dishes was perfect. The tast of food reminded me my childhood. since I were born and grow up in Vietnam so I am away more skeptical when it come to Vietnamese food in other country. not always that I can taste something that authentic like this. For the wonderful decor, service, and foods I must rate it with 5 🌟. my family and me will definitely come back for more of this experience ❤️ thank you because of you I got my childhood moment back 🥰

I was here for dinner. In advance I have already eaten in many Vietnamese restaurants and in comparison I can say that the taste of the food of An No is in the golden mean. The food and drink (spring rolls, summer rolls, noodles with chicken and salad (a modified form of the classic and popular, partially warm Vietnamese beef dish called bún bò nam bộ), mint-lime lemonade) tasted good, but I really have experienced much better Vietnamese food before. The ginger-lemongrass lemonade tasted just too sweet, like syrup, presumably only the ginger and lemongrass were put into the syrup used. Nevertheless, I would eat here again if I lived in Roskilde, because the selection of Vietnamese restaurants seems to be very limited. However, I would pick up the dishes and eat them at home, because I didn't like the restaurant's premises as much. Sure - it's a street food concept with authentic plastic stools, but otherwise not lovingly furnished. I can also judge this by visiting other Vietnamese street food concepts. In addition to the good memory of the meal, the clothes also stink like fried food after a visit, as the kitchen is right next to the dining room and the ventilation is obviously inadequate and in addition the floor was sticky because...

I dag var mit (og min mands) første, men absolut ikke sidste besøg her. Der er langt imellem, at jeg synes mad er så god, at den faktisk fortjener en anmeldelse, men hold nu op, hvor var det lækkert. Altså som i helt fjollet lækkert.

Der var ingen tvivl om, at der blev brugt helt friske råvarer, for selv salaten i retterne var knasende sprød, og når der er skaldyr i en ret, så er man sjældent i tvivl heller. Og smagen. Man kunne faktisk smage de forskellige komponenter i retterne, hvilket absolut var en fornøjelse, og fordi det hele var lavet fra bunden, var det faktisk muligt at undgå løg, hvilket jeg ikke kan tåle endnu et stort plus.

Normalt er jeg lidt påpasselig med at spise for meget, hvis jeg skal noget efter en middag, da jeg har en temmelig sart mave, men trods to retter, var der kun en ganske lille smule ris tilbage, som jeg bare ikke kunne få ned, fordi jeg faktisk havde spist mere end jeg næsten kunne rumme. Jeg var MÆT!

Vi havde en lille udfordring, da den meget søde og unge pige, der var helt ny, glemte at taste den ene hovedret, fordi der samtidig havde været spørgsmål omkring allergier, men jeg skal da lige love for, at der hurtigt blev rettet op på det, og de både undskyldte og tilbød ekstra drikkevarer, som vi dog afviste, da vi ikke kunne indeholde mere, skulle videre, og ærligt talt bare havde haft en super god og hyggelig oplevelse, så det trækker ikke en gang ned i bedømmelsen.

Vi blev mødt af smil og venlighed fra start til slut, og vi kommer uden tvivl igen med resten af familien, for den slags kærlighed til mad skal genopleves og deles.

Og giv lige deres hjemmelavede limonade med mynte en chance, i stedet for at vælge en almindelig cola eller sådan noget. Den er både sød og frisk, og så passer den perfekt til maden. Min mand er normalt ikke så meget til den slags, men han smagte den og blev helt ked af, at han bare havde bestilt en cola.

At “Ăn no” betyder “spis mæt”, er lige i skabet, for jeg skal da lige love for, at vi fik spist os mætte.
