We made a quick stop at Klostercaféen in Tønder, located on one of the town’s squares — an old but incredibly charming and cozy place. Luckily, the weather was on our side, so when the opportunity came to sit outside and enjoy a late lunch on a beautiful summer day, we had to take it.
Klostercaféen is definitely worth a visit. That said, it was quite busy during lunchtime, and the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. It took a while before we got our drinks — they actually arrived together with the food. That could certainly be improved, but as mentioned, the staff had their hands full.
I had a delicious Stjerneskud (a Danish fish dish) served on toasted bread, while my son went for the tasty Tønder Klosterburger with 200 grams of beef and fries. The only downside was that the fries came with just a very small portion...

To top it off, I was the lucky winner of a way too loud sound test for something later in the day. I get the sound test is necessary but 11:45 lunch is not a good pairing with a bass line that punches you in the stomach.
