This restaurant came highly recommended by many people. Unfortunately, our experience left nothing to be desired. We were a party of ten and to start the waiter seemed very overwhelmed with the load of his tables even before he greeted us. He started taking our order and stopped half way. Moved onto other tables, then comes back to collect our menus and doesn’t bother to finish taking our order. We have to remind him to finish. Some drinks never made it to the table. The appetizers come at the same time as the main plates of one half of the table. We complained and nothing changed. We ordered a pizza that sat at the server’s prep table until it was cold. The cook realized it was our and brought it to our table. Three people never received their food and two never received their drink order. With all of this the waiter never tried to recover the service one bit. To make matters worse, the bill still listed all of the food that was never served!!!! And THEN as we’re paying the bill (that still had a plate we never received listed) the manager has the nerve to say, “oh that’s the one that just came out!” As our entire party was already standing ready to leave. Worst dinner experience any of us has ever had. It’s unfortunate because those that did eat, really liked their food. My suggestion is to work on your service and teach your servers how to recover when they make mistakes. Don’t try to convince me I’m wrong...

How do I know?
I’ve done it. Their pizzas are hand made, wood fired, and made to order. I would highly recommend the Mai E Letta. Supper tasty. Don’t quote me on the spelling.
There are a lot of options at Fishing Lodge and throughout Cap Cana, but I can’t help coming back to this place. Don’t even get me started on their desserts.
Next time you’re there, ask for their cheesecake dessert.
I could not believe they had any bad reviews and when I read them I noticed a pattern. People that were not happy they were not the top priority on New Year’s Eve 2021. Quite literally the busiest night of the year for them and some folks were mad since they had to wait more time than usual.
How do I know? I was there. I was served. It did take longer than usual, but I still was still a happy customer because I knew they were serving 10x their normal capacity, and the service was still excellent except for the extra time that one night.
If you are in Cap Cana stop reading this and head over there now.

Read moreWe visited Dolce with high hopes, but unfortunately, the experience was a mixed bag. Despite making a reservation via WhatsApp, the staff couldn’t find it when we confirmed two hours prior. On arrival, we weren’t on their list, which led to an unpleasant back-and-forth with the hostesses before being seated in an awkward corner inside.
The food was hit or miss. My wife’s gluten-free pasta with burrata and tomato sauce initially arrived undercooked, and while it was redone, it lacked flavor. My fungi and prosciutto pizza, though tasty, took an hour to arrive despite repeated inquiries—likely due to a single oven handling a packed house of around 80 diners. Dessert saved the meal, as we both enjoyed the passion fruit cheesecake.
In summary, while some dishes shone, the disorganization and delays overshadowed...
