Isla — Restaurant in Higüey

I really hate when I have to write a bad review but this one I feel is one I must make a note on, this restaurant had terrible service I don’t blame our waiter but I would blame the management staff, first they try to place our party of 12 at a different reservations table for 30 people after we then had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation to then get sitting at our table mind you I had to check with the hostess 3 times in order to get the table then we sat for over 30 minutes before we had gotten even water for the table after we then had to wait one hour and thirty minutes to even get our food that came out wrong and as the food came out they had let us know they didn’t have Certain items that where on the menu and then had to wait for there food even longer I was hoping that was all the issues but then out medium cooked steak came out Burnt and and all that anyone was able to taste was the grill by that I mean it tasted burnt along with our sides not even being brought to the table with our food, along with all of that the inside of the restaurant was warmer than outside and we where over heating then whole time we where in the restaurant but not only that the whole restaurant was full of smoke from the grill, over all I wouldn’t give this restaurant even one star I had to leave and order room service I would recommend trying anywhere else...

Breakfast was one of the best in the resort but my family did not like how loose the scrambled eggs were but that’s the way every breakfast place here serves them. I had grouper for my evening meal which was descent but a little bland and lightly cook. My daughter had some kind of rib which was only one rib with a little other stuff she didn’t like. My wife had lobster and crab which came wrapped in some kind of root. We eat lots of seafood being we live on the Gulf Coast and crab and fish all year long. This dish didn’t look like crab or lobster it was very dark and my wife is still sick and we assume it came from there because that night her stomach started cramping and now she has very bad diarrhea. We recently had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at Isla Restaurant at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, and I must say, it was truly outstanding.
