La Cassina has so many good features that I don't know where to start… well, it's one of the most beautiful restaurants I've seen in the city of Santo Domingo.

The interior designer just got everything right; It is modern and contemporary design that is elegant and a bit modern at the same time. It's not easy to put on, it definitely has a Mediterranean flavor, but it would blend anywhere in Europe or any cosmopolitan city.

The Food ... at the beginning we ordered PEGAO AL PLATO (White Fish Carpaccio in the wood-fired oven with ceviche, tomaticos and parmesan) on the recommendation of the waitress and it was very wise, additionally a burrata that was exquisite. As a main course we ordered, the casein burger (a house hamburger that has no waste anywhere), a BRICK OVEN BRANZINO (Stuffed with Prosciutto on a bed of baked potato in a hot paprika vinaigrette, and finally a HOT GOAT CHEESE SALAD (caramelized walnuts and truffle honey).

In general, the food was at the level of the place, top quality products, but above all fresh.

I didn't order dessert, but they tell me that the house dessert ... bread pudding is the perfect "happy ending" ... big enough to share between 2...

Eh…guess it must have been an off night for them.

Either way, I would not return nor I would recommend it. Have had better experience else where in Santo Domingo.

Restaurant was empty and they threw me in a table literally next to the entry to the kitchen as you would expect the food traffic non stop was quite annoying. You would think that with that location I would at least have received good service…not the case…COULDN’T HAVE BEEN MORE NEGLECTED. No one check in on me, no one asked me if I wanted something else to drink, no one asked how the food was…I was actually quite shocked.

I was literally there for one hour and a half and spoke to the waiter twice…once for a bottle of sparkling water to start with and then for the meal. After that no one bother to check in.

Expect for the check of course…than they couldn’t be more attentive!

The table adjacent to mine return their pasta dish and their fish dish…they stated that both were terrible…as a result I just stuck with an appetizer, salad, and dessert.

Just overall not worth it, inattentive and uncaring service and all around the food wasn’t that great.

Overrated.

You are better...

Outstanding restaurant in Santo Domingo, it's my second time visiting La Cassina and both times I come out more impressed by their food, ambiance and crowd.

The food is the main character here and their choices are excellent, for starters they have plenty of appetizers like crudo (raw), soups, tartare and deli items, like cheese, prosciutto.

Once you order they bring out a basket of bread that has a variety of breads and casava.

We had as a starter the "Pegao al Plato" aka White Fish Carpaccio, it was delicious. As our main we had the tomahawk steak, it was cooked to perfection and tasted great. As dessert we had Creme Brulee and Expresso Sundae, both were delicious)

-They also have a great selection of wine, I saw plenty of Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Sauvignon Blanc, wines from Spain Tempranillo, Italian and French wines.

Ambience and crowd were nice, they were couple and groups, families and businesses groups.

Decor is beautiful, they also have a patio area. Valet parking is...
