Yao Asian Cuisine - Piantini — Restaurant in Santo Domingo

Horrible experience. I admit that I arrived at 10 to a place that is scheduled to close at 11 but either reject me or treat me like any other customer. My party of 4 walked in immediately "ungreeted" by Angela who had the realest b$#@+ face I've seen in DR. Clearly she did not want to be there and she took our order with the same face; seemingly bothered by any question we had. She walks away and is joking with other employees so she can't be that tired. On top of the horrible treatment, I finished my meal and let her know she forgot the dumplings appetizer I ordered... I get an oops I forgot to add it in, my apologies. This was perfect because as soon as I finished I was ready to go. They do not deserve my business there as you can get great food at any other restaurant nearby. They're just an overpriced asian spot that sells Dominican plates as well. They have another name for the mofongo dish I ordered for over 500 pesos. I'll include the pic just know if you arrive hungry this WON'T fill you up. Thanks Angela for a GREAT debut experience of Yao. They get 2 stars because the taste...

We walked past this restaurant because we thought it looked nice and the food looks appetizing.

We asked the waiter for a table for 2 and he was hesitant for some reason but I paid it no mind. He pointed at a table and directed us to go there.

We sat at the table and we were complete ignored by the staff. Different staff members walked by us and even served tables right next to us. They did not even give us a menu. After sitting at our table for 20 with no service. I went up and asked for a menu. And again one of the staffers were hesitant.

We decided to leave. We did not want to eat at a place that did not want...

So we came here for a nice healthy meal. The place had flickering tube lights I thought i was going to have a seizure. Then when ordering the girl serving us was not happy. Which is fine but the attitude matters when you are in the service industry. Once we did order the bill was 22 USD, usually poke in canada or states costs about 14 dollars CAD OR 11 USD. So i was expecting something great. Anyways the food was not good. Chicken was dry and a bit tasteless and the rice was a few days old.

I would skip this joint. Much nicer places in Santo...
