Absolutely terrible experience. All the food was off and we all wonder now if we will get sick eaten it. We left the restaurant after few bites of each dish. None of them had fresh ingredients. We had the dumplings which were watery as not properly cooked after defrosting them. Further the taste was off from whatever was used to spice them. Quote ironically fresh ones were made on the table next to us but clearly a big batch which was intended to last for long. Then we also had the bibembap. Served with an egg overfried like we have never seen before. Served with Uncooked rice. Cold and with pickled vegetables instead of fresh. Finally we had the pork belly. Only item which somewhat could be eaten. However either made with old meat or meat fried twice maybe from the night before. Super blend and no taste whatsoever.
The place itself now properly clean but this was the least of our concerns. Have eaten on street kitchens and hole in the wall kind of places all over the world. And had fantastic food before these places. As long as the area where the food is made is clean it's all good.
I don't believe myself to be an expert on Korean food. However we have had Korean food in US, Denmark. Kenya and Uganda. Maybe 20 to 30 times. Always a great experience so I don't but the "our palate" must be different excuse.....
I don't recall ever walking out of a restaurant before without touching the food. Looking at the reviews maybe we were somehow unlucky but this goes over top 3 worst restaurant...
Read moreWhat an absolute delight! I ordered steamed dumplings plus noodles with vegetables and piquant sauce. The dumplings were the best I have ever tasted, way better than Chinese. They came (take-away) with little foil-wrapped packets (like presents) of what I assume were kimchi varieties, my first taste of any kimchi. Together, this was all exquisite. The noodle dish surprised me by being cold but it was no less amazing for that. It inclused a little meat but the best parts were the highly flavoured soy sauce and the unbeatable red piquant sauce, the best hot sauce I've ever eaten; beautifjl to look at, surprisingly sweet and pleasantly piquant (not too mild). Service was excellent. Be careful to check food ordered is suitable if intended for take-away as some food must be eaten within 10 minutes of being served. My two dishes together cost RD$800 and easily served 3, a very reasonable price. The soups all look marvellous and are more expensive but my guess is they're worth every peso. All portions of everything are large, large portions are larger!!! Take-out comes with spoons and even disposable chopsticks - another plus. I can't wait to try more and will definitely visit again. I can't praise the...
Read moreThe food and service is just "okay" but the plates are a little small for the price. The restaurant needs to be renovated. There is filtration everywhere and the place is very outdated. We're not sure how clean the kitchen is but I hope it's better than the dining area. We were actually quite happy that our food had come out before one of the workers arrived because he was sneezing so loudly, all we could imagine is that everything in the kitchen area was being seized upon. No one was wearing masks either so for us, we...
