This place prides itself in that they make authentic chinese cuisine, so I would recommend that if you go, try those types of plates. It's not a regular chifa, it has several private rooms and special tables to keep food warm, they serve you tea (for free) before your meal.
I just wanted to check it out for regular chinese food like fried rice and soup and it was not good --at all.
The rice I was served was old. I couldn't finish it, I just ate whatever small and few pieces of chicken it included and took the rest home only to have it smell bad when I pulled it out. I guess that's why I didn't enjoy it there, because it was old rice, to the point of becoming smelly.
The soup was with noodles with these very unusual, fancy mushrooms and with chopped frankfurters, like the cheapest ones you'd buy for hot dogs (What?). Also my companion could not finish the soup --it's large. But I'd never, ever eaten neither cheap nor fancy frankfurters in any chinese restaurant here in Ecuador.
So the taste of the non special chinese food was mediocre to not good, it was not fresh and the prices are high, even for the regular food. The special chinese dishes are very expensive.
