A Magical Dining Experience in Luxor
I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday dinner at this incredible Egyptian restaurant while on vacation in Luxor, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. This place is a gem, preserving the old ways of cooking and maintaining traditional methods that make every bite authentic and unique.
The food is freshly prepared in traditional Egyptian pots and cooked in a clay oven, which gives it a rich and unparalleled flavor. Every dish we tried was simply amazing—super tasty and cooked to perfection. It felt like a true feast of Egyptian flavors.
What makes this restaurant even more special is its atmosphere. It feels like stepping back in time, with the smells of delicious food filling the air and a rustic charm that’s hard to find anywhere else. The staff is incredibly friendly, and Mustafa, in particular, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
The journey to the restaurant was part of the magic. A boat picked us up from our hotel, and we crossed the Nile under the evening sky. On the other side, a tuk-tuk was waiting to take us to the restaurant. This seamless blend of hospitality and adventure added an extra layer of excitement to the evening.
I cannot put into words how happy I felt throughout this entire experience. It was more than just a dinner—it was a memory I will cherish forever. I’m already looking forward to coming back the next time I’m in Luxor. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Egyptian cuisine and an unforgettable experience!

Read moreThe Old Egyptian Village is truly one of the most authentic experiences in Luxor.
Away from the tourist traps and unceneessary bargains in city, this little oasis provides a calm and relaxing atmosphere within the deep heart of the west bank.
You'll be surrounded by nature, farms and cute little village houses.
The decorations are from authentic Egyptian homes, where you'll see the original instruments used for grinding the grains, cooking, baking. Also the lamps, the seating, as an Egyptian I confirm it's truly authentic and not fake by any way or mean.
The food is deliciously cooked in front of your eyes in their open kitchen. Bread is baked freshly and you'll smell it before it reaches your table hot and crispy.
The owner is a sweetheart, he helped us to get to the nile side (as the restaurant is deeply located inside the village) and he invited us over an Egyptian cup of tea (it's strong and sweet at the same time, boiled over wood)
Highly recommended if you want a true experience, just check their menu upfront and call to book one of their...
Read moreBest food, best location, best authentic vibe we got during our fabulous trip in Egypt with the most passionate and dedicated chef I ever met. We eat every evening in this very special place for a all week. Everything cooked is from the chef farming production, is organic and local.
Go to this restaurant it's not only receiving a delicious meal but is mostly to experience an all experience from picking your dish (I'm vegetarian and I could have plenty of creatives options ), look at the ingredients used in the open kitchen, get explanation from the Chef with the provenance of all his products and even help to make and bake our bread for the table in the traditional Egyptian bake place.
We got more explanation about the importance of the Nil for Egyptian, the richness of the land of West Bank luxor, beautiful Egyptian stories, we got amazing advices for cooking back home and some naturopathic tips very useful.
A big thank you to the chef and his fantastic family for sharing with us so many magical moments.
