A wonderful hostel where you really can relax and hear the birds in the garden. The theme is Peace and Freedom like the name. The decorations are in the Jamaican colors and there is even a painting of Bob Marley on one of the walls. There are some trees in the garden as well giving shade.
Even the hostel still is under construction, you don't see or feel it on the floor, which is ready. Maybe the room I had could get some decorations, but it is nice and clean as it is as well as of a generous size. The bathroom is beautiful and clean as well. The simple breakfast is served in the garden. It is good for the price ($11/night incl breakfast and taxes). The owner Happy is very serviceminded and drove me by his motorcycle to the meeting point of a tour to the Valley of the Kings etc. as well as he arranged a pick up at the end of the tour, even that by motorcycle. There was no need to pay for it and not even the baksheesh accepted. In addition, there is always one of the employees or Happy himself during the night. - You may need to have your towel with you, but I think, this will be changed soon.
You need to know, even when locals tell you that Luxor is both on the East and the West bank of the river Nile, the city of Luxor is only on the East bank. On the West bank it is a village with the usual bad roads, but you can cross the Nile from the city of Luxor by ferry for only 5 EGP and take a walk...

My brother and I have met some of the kindest, most open-hearted people of our lives here. So, the location is therefore great! :)
The house itself is beautiful and in particular the garden, it is a great place to relax.
The room we stayed in was very comfortable and even had a couch! The couch came in handy as our friend came round to meet us, upon arrival Happy (the host) made him tea. It’s the little things!!! :)
The beds are comfy and the toilets are clean and very functional. The rooms have fans which help a lot with the heat.
Now for the food… my brother and I are big eaters and we LOVE a free breakfast. Especially a nutritious and delicious one. Happy can certainly make that.
He also cooked various meals for us which were fantastic! We brought fruit too and his son made a seriously delicious smoothie. Big smiles from us :)
Lastly, a personal thanks to Happy. Human to human, we were made to feel genuinely welcome and at home. We appreciate that.
If you’re needing a place to enjoy some chill time in a nice community on the West Bank, check this place out.
Love...
