Extremely disappointing.

I booked this place based on the previous reviews but unfortunately, it really did not meet my expectations.

Firstly, don’t book an airport transfer with the hotel - it’s a rip off at 500 Egyptian pounds. We paid 200 Egyptian pounds to get from Luxor airport to the hotel.

Breakfast was awful - before arriving we messaged the hotel to see if they could cater for a vegan diet. They said we could talk to the kitchen on arrival. All they had to offer was one orange, two bananas and bread with jam (with tea/coffee). Ridiculous. The worst part was the second morning they didn’t even have any more oranges - you’d think they might have got us some more fruit seeing as we told them our dietary requirements beforehand. Also fruit is an extremely common option for breakfast anyway?? Really really not good. Just very disappointing.

When we arrived back after our first day exploring Luxor, the beds weren’t made and the room wasn’t cleaned - poor service. I had also asked that morning for some extra blankets to be put in as the room was cold, and they weren’t there when we got back. (There is heating in the rooms which can be switched on at your own leisure. But I asked for blankets as the heating makes the room stuffy which I didn’t like) I got a blanket in the end after translating via google translate to an elderly man at the desk that evening.

Furthermore, we gave our laundry for washing early one morning. When we returned late that evening it was not ready - not ideal but no problem. The man said it would be ready the next morning when we were due to check out. The next morning our clothes were returned in a plastic bag and they were wet!! Really not good. He said he would hang them up and we could collect them later that day which was fine as we were leaving our luggage at the hotel anyway. When we returned that evening to collect our stuff, the clothes were dry but they were thrown into a plastic bag in a ball (unfolded). Just not a good service. He then also tried to over charge us, but in the end we did not pay anything as the service was just so bad.

There was also no shampoo in the bathroom and no bin in the room. The curtains don’t fully cover the windows.

On the positive side of things, the hotel is situated in a lovely isolated area full of local people. The rooftop garden is really nice and has great views. There’s also a beautiful terrace at the very back of the property which was great. The pool area is really nice and the surrounding fields are just stunning. Staff were friendly.

It’s about a 30 minute walk to the ferry port to get to the other side...

Good hospitality by the staff and property owners is the only positive aspect besides few orange trees, Lennon trees, guava trees on the property.

The property is located in the middle of underdeveloped village area with hardly any means of public transportation.

Credit cards or debit cards are NOT accepted at all here like many areas in Egypt. The property needs serious maintenance and up-keeping. Spider webs, ants, mosquitoes and bugs are pretty common in the room, stay during winter or summer is a big risk as there is no proper heat or AC in all rooms. One might be able to get portable heater, but, it just gets too hot as it is not automatic/regulated.

Be careful when ordering additional dish in the breakfast, like extra omelette or tea... the charges get tagged on to the bill and demanded to be paid upon checkout. As there is no such practice of denoting “extra/payable by the the guest” one cannot assume it is included in the complimentary breakfast.

Never ever ask for bottled water unless you want to pay thrice the charge of it from a nearby shop/market. Normally the hotels place a tag on items that are extra/payable/not covered on the room tariff. This property doesn’t have such procedure.

It is strongly advised to have good knowledge about the nearby tourist places to visit with the preferred mode of transportation to avoid unnecessary bargaining of cost of transportation which also has to be paid by cash.

When going out for walk in the evening or night, beware of stray dogs.

Ensure one is sufficiently wearing outer wears, as it gets too cold in the evening through...

Why it was excellent? Everything! -Facilities are absolutely mermerizing. Quiet and tranquil. Privileged view of the Nile from our room as well as from the rooftop garden. The rooms are spacious, clean, true to the pictures, thoughfully decorated and well equipped. The garden is beautiful and the swimming pool is kept pristine. -The compound works also as restaurant for the guests and everything is cooked on the spot. Make sure not to miss their breakfast! -Service and attentiveness. All staff were nice and attentive. Specially Mohsin, he is the absolute kindest. He arranged everything for us, tours, transfers and everything else we needed during our stay. -The location is a bit of a drive from the ferry stop but the compound can arrange options easily to move around. Overall a pleasant and unexpected surprise hidden by the Nile in...
