I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gogi, an Asian restaurant located in Maadi, Egypt, and I must say that my experience was nothing short of delightful. From the appetizers to the main dishes, every bite was a burst of flavors that left me craving for more.
To kick off the meal, we started with the Steamed Vegetables and Beef Dumplings. The dumplings were perfectly cooked, with a juicy and flavorful filling. The accompanying dipping sauce added a tangy kick that complemented the dumplings beautifully. The Steamed Vegetables were fresh and vibrant, offering a healthy and refreshing start to the meal.
Next, we indulged in Tteokbokki, a popular Korean street food dish. The rice cakes were cooked to perfection, chewy yet tender, and bathed in a rich and spicy sauce. Each bite was an explosion of flavors, with a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and savory notes.
For the soup course, we opted for the Hot and Sour Soup, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The soup was packed with a medley of ingredients, including tofu, mushrooms, and bamboo shoots, all swimming in a tangy and robust broth. The flavors were harmonious, with just the right amount of heat, making it a truly satisfying and comforting dish.
Moving on to the main event, we sampled the Bulgogi Beef, Yangnyeom Chicken, and Chile with Garlic Sauce. The Bulgogi Beef was tender and succulent, marinated in a delicious blend of soy sauce, garlic, and other aromatic spices. It was a mouthwatering dish that showcased the skillful grilling techniques of the kitchen.
The Yangnyeom Chicken was another standout dish. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, coated in a sticky and flavorful sauce. The combination of sweet and spicy notes made it an absolute delight to eat.
Lastly, we tried the Chicken with Garlic Sauce, and it left us in awe. The dish featured a perfect balance of heat from the flavor and crunch of the chicken and the fragrant punch of garlic. The combination of flavors was explosive, and the noodles and fried rice that accompanied it were cooked to perfection, offering a satisfying and well-rounded meal.
The overall dining experience at Gogi was exceptional. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, (but small) and the service was attentive and friendly. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu, providing recommendations and ensuring that our dining experience was memorable.
In conclusion, Gogi Asian Cuisine in Maadi, Egypt, exceeded my expectations with its delectable dishes. From the appetizers to the main courses, each dish was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with authentic Asian flavors. I highly recommend Gogi to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience with a wide range of delicious...
Read moreWe had an absolutely wonderful experience dining here as a party of three my wife, my sister, and I. Everything from the food to the service was exceptional.
Our server Regina was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. She made great recommendations, checked in at the perfect moments, and ensured our table had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Her positive energy really added to the experience!
We ordered vegetable kimbap, steamed and fried beef dumplings, and tteok-bokki, all of which were delicious and beautifully presented. We also had miso soup, wonton soup, and seafood soup, each flavorful and comforting.
For mains, we tried stir-fried chicken noodles, stir-fried mixed noodles, stir-fried beef noodles, and sweet and sour chicken. Every dish was packed with flavor, fresh ingredients, and perfectly cooked noodles. To top it off, the iced peach tea and iced blueberry tea were refreshing and a great balance to the meal.
The portions were generous, the presentation was clean, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We could tell the kitchen and staff really care about quality and customer satisfaction.
Overall: an excellent dining experience from start to finish. Regina’s service and the consistently great food made this a memorable visit. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be back en...
Read moreI’ve been to there twice. The first visit was very good, but unfortunately, my experience yesterday was disappointing. Not only was there an issue with the food, but also with the service and the waiter’s attitude.
First, we waited over 40 minutes just for noodles. I asked if we could have a refill of the pickles in the meantime, I wouldn’t mind paying extra for it (though, in most Korean restaurants, it’s complimentary). The waiter gave us a dismissive look, said he would “see,” and then completely ignored us for the rest of the meal. He neither said yes nor no, just avoided our table while serving others.
To make things worse, I later discovered a BUG in my noodles. At that point, we just wanted to leave. While paying, we calmly mentioned it to the waiter—not to ask for a refund or replacement, but simply to inform them. Instead of apologizing, he brushed it off with, “Oh really? That never happens, first time…” as if we were making it up lol.
I understand mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability, respect, and basic courtesy made the situation much worse. We still paid and left respectfully, but the overall experience left a very bad impression....
