I recently visited the new Granita restaurant in Al Azhar Park (this is a new name for this place) with high expectations, especially since I'm a big fan of their Zamalek location. Unfortunately, my experience was far from what I had hoped for. The appetizer I received was not what I ordered, and the Roz Moaamer and Keshk were both overly salty. The Rokak was too dry, and the Soborek was taken out of the oven before it was fully cooked, with raw dough inside.
To make matters worse, we asked for water multiple times and still had to wait over an hour for our main dish, which never arrived. After 1 hour and 15 minutes, we decided to leave, and that was a real disappointment, especially since it was Ramadan and we were fasting. I had planned a lovely surprise for my family, but it turned into a total disaster.
On the bright side, the view is absolutely stunning, with beautiful decorations, a lake view, and the lovely park surrounding the restaurant. However, the service was a major letdown, and while it’s a great spot for photos, I would not recommend it for dining at all—at least not yet. I understand the restaurant just opened and it's Ramadan, but those are reasons to make sure the service and food quality are at their best, not worse. Definitely not the experience I...
Read moreThe restaurant has really beautiful surroundings that create a pleasant atmosphere. The food was OK, nothing that blew us away, but decent enough. However, I felt the price we paid was far too high compared to the taste and what I would expect at that price point.
Unfortunately, the service didn’t live up to the rest. We waited a long time before a staff member came to take our order. The food did arrive within a reasonable time though. When we wanted to pay, it was another challenge - we had to wait an additional 15-20 minutes and ask several times before the bill arrived.
It’s a beautiful place with potential, but the service needs to step up. With faster and more attentive service, this could easily be a 4-5...
Read moreActually, I couldn't rate the place with any stars, not even one! It wasn't just a bad experience, it was one of the most unforgotable bad memories. Started with the most unwelcome greeting from a man at the entrance warning us that we won't be able to pay because it is expensive, moving to the issue of finding a place, although half the restaurant was empty, and even the menu wasn't shown to us. Then came the manager, literally half a child, asking us to leave because he forgot a group of girls who wanted the place for a birthday party! No words can describe how frustrating was the situation! Hope the responsible people open a better place...
