Willow’s - Arkan Plaza — Restaurant in Giza

Update: Finally remembered to take pictures of the amazingly delicious food! Willow's has been my favourite spot in Arkan for years however I've been visiting Willow's regularly over the past three months, and it has consistently exceeded my expectations. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, dinner, or just a coffee break, Willow’s has quickly become one of my favorite spots in town.

The menu is thoughtfully curated and everything I’ve tried has been nothing short of excellent. Personal favorites include the cheese platter, salmon gravlax sandwich, eggs Benedict with Salmon gravlax, shrimp pasta, and their delicious pizza. The potato cheddar soup is pure comfort in a bowl, and for dessert, the tiramisu is a must-try. Coffee lovers will appreciate their rich brews, Cappucino and the pistachio latte is a unique standout I keep craving.

The service is warm and attentive. The waitstaff are friendly and welcoming, and on occasions when it’s been hard to flag someone down, the manager himself has stepped in with genuine care and efficiency — a rare and appreciated gesture. Even their takeaway packaging reflects the same attention to detail you get when dining in. Willow’s offers not just great food and drinks, but a consistently pleasant experience that keeps drawing me back. Highly recommended for any time of day.

A sub-average experience! Dined-in with 3 other people, ordered an appetizer (Chinese Shrimp Ribbons) and 4 main dishes plus drinks. All good so far. However that only lasted till the waiter was serving the appetizer and dropped one of the pieces into the ashtray while doing so! Accidents happen right? At that point you would expect an apology or a replacement. However, the waiter just silently picked up the dropped piece and left. We started having the appetizer while expecting a full/partial replacement of the dropped piece OR for the appetizer to be waived from our bill, which didn't happen. Upon calling the manager and informing him about the incident, he apologized and offered us a complimentary dessert, which we didn't really need, but it was a nice gesture. Then he got us the printed bill which again had the appetizer listed. Bringing this up again to the manager, he offered us a 10% discount on the bill which only partially covered the appetizer's value and his justification was that this covers the price of the dropped piece! Very disappointing action and service in general. Any reputable restaurant would provide a replacement plate or waive the item's cost right away but not them obviously. They expect you to have an incomplete portion and pay the full price for the plate, unless you complain and get a small discount, which again is quite...

I had the pleasure of trying the tiramisu, and while it was nearly flawless, I believe it could benefit from a slight improvement—perhaps in texture or balance of flavors—to make it truly outstanding.
