Ignore the recent Google reviews for this restaurant at your own peril. That’s what I did and regretted going to this restaurant. Do not go to this restaurant. Everything we tried was horrible. The locals guides, hotel staff and even the concierge at Renaissance Resort recommended this resturant as the best seafood food restaurant. Some say the old town one is good and others the new on in El Salam. We went to the one in El Salam. I am not sure how they have expanded to 5 restaurants in Sharm El Sheikh with the poor quality of food and service. Maybe it’s because of the tie up with tour companies and hotels each getting their cut for bringing in guests I am guessing. The driver from the hotel when he dropped us at the restaurant called out to the person out side the restaurant standing by the seafood on display to indicate that we were his guest. As you walk in the pressure starts with the poor service from the guy trying to sell you the seafood that you have to buy first and then the restaurant will then cook it for you. This person did a very bad job of telling us the options they offer for the how we could get the seafood cooked. We got the whole sea bass, Calamari and shrimps supposedly all fresh from the red sea. We then were showed to our table where the bad service continued there is an option to get the salad and dips we got that. It was the worst mezze I have had and I have traveled to over 40 plus countries. Then came the fresh fish we had bought at the restaurant. The calamari was over cooked and fired in bad oil it was so chewy and had a bad after taste because of the oil used many times and was cold. They took it back heated and brought it back this time it was even worse so we did not eat it.Then came the grilled red sea fresh shrimps it had a bad odor was not fresh at all. Also was cold supposed to be hot of the grill and was not fresh so we sent it back and said we did not want it as the smell was horrible. The sea bass again was not fresh was the only thing we could eat some of and left it. So overall very bad experience. There are many better places to go in Sharm El Sheikh so don’t waste your time going to this place. The one positive thing was when we told the management about the shrimps they did not charge us for that one dish. The restaurant is new so the ambience on the upper lever outdoor...
Read moreA great restaurant for sea food lovers! The fosh is on show at the back of the restaurant and customers are able to go and chose which fish they want themselves. A fish monger is always available to clean and cut the fish we chose to eat and therfore is served hot and extremely fresh and tasty. The salad is also fresh and crisp. Great points for food.
However, this restaurant did not meet my expectations when I witnessed bullying. The manager was extremely rude to his staff and it was not pleasant to witness.
Additionally, we were paying for food we literally did not want. The manager was literally trying to swap our choices for more expensive options that we were not interested in. We were pressured into ordering an expensive alternative. We asked for a small salad, he said he will bring a large suitable for our table without our agreement. The salad was wasted as it was extremely large however it was still on our bill. We opted for a shrimp pasta, this was changed to crab and calamari rice dish which was double the price - we were not happy with this choice. Starters like dips and bread were added onto the table as soon as we entered, assuming this was a restaurant service for all customers, this also appeared on the bill at the end. They also provided water bottles we did not order, again these were added onto the bill at the end. It was almost like we were alongside the staff who were also being bullied into spending more money we for things we didn't really want. I was not happy with these extra charges and the manners of the man in charge. Ruined the entire dining experience.
I would not recommend simply due the fact that customer service goes a long way. Food was delicious but not worth nasty people serving you trying to scam you.
Another point to mention, this place has stairs that lead up to the restaurant. It is not durable for disabled access not family access for those with small children with buggy or prams.
A very expensive restaurant in sharm that unfortunately was disappointing overall. Unhappy with the service, management and the awful need to force customers to change their...
Read moreThe entire 50mins experience in this restaurant was probably my worst dining experience ever, and I have been traveling a loooooot. This restaurant was advised to us by our hotel as the best seafood in Sharm. From the moment we stepped into this restaurant, to the moment we left it, it was stressful and disappointing and borderline angering. After having ordered from the fresh fish section (make sure you ask the price of what you are ordering: I have ordered lobster for 45$ per kg, which seemed a quite high price and insisted that they weight it in front of me), hardly had we managed to sit down and not even yet opened the menu, when the pushy waiters started to put pressure on us by suggesting things to order. after mentioning several times that we'd like to see the menu first, we eventually gave in since they were becoming unhappy, rude and extremely pushy. This resulted in a bill way higher than what we were expecting, which wouldn't have happened were we left in peace to make our order. As for the food, I had ordered lobster which was dry, overcooked, and the best part (the claws) cut out and according to the waiters, thrown away. The fresh grilled fish tasted like defrosted and also dry and not even properly salted.
Our visit to this restaurant was waste of our time, money and resulted in a spoilt mood. If you however decide to visit this place, which I'd strongly advise against, make sure you don't let the staff to push you around and stand...
