Stayed in Albatros during my holiday in Sharm El Sheikh and it was overall a very positive experience.
The location is definitely what I most loved about the hotel. It is situated on a cliff from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the desert mountains, the sea and the old town, definitely a cool spot to watch the sun go down behind the mountains. Nearby you can also find local shops, pharmacies and restaurants.
The hotel has also an elevator which directly takes you to the private beach, which is super convenient and fast.
The beach is very pretty and there you can find various shops and a little restaurant. If you like snorkeling you will find beautiful corals here with many species of fishes.
One suggestion for the Hotel would be to put more signs, especially by the beach, to let people know that corals and fishes must be respected. I have seen many guests feeding the fishes and touching the corals while snorkeling and I found that very upsetting. When mentioning it to the life guards they seemed to be also concerned.
We had the all-inclusive option. The food was overall good, with a wide choice of different meats, vegetables and rice. Loved the falafel for breakfast! Just the fruit didn't look that fresh most of the time. The alcoholic rinks were a bit disappointing, since they are made using local Egyptian alcohol, which we didn't particularly enjoy.
A negative aspect were the rooms: not well-maintained and outdated. Could definitely use some renovation. Unfortunately not up to the 4 stars standards.
There is also no wi-fi by the beach, and that is a disadvantage. The connection could be stronger also in various area of the resort.
The Spa is definitely a must! Tried the Hammam and body massage, was awesome. Totally suggest you try it.
What we found a bit annoying was some people trying to be pushy in selling us experiences and offers, especially by the beach.
The service was amazing, everyone was very nice, kind and available and helped us with any inconvenience.
Last thing was that when checking-out we were a bit pushed to write a positive review right there with them. We felt it wasn't very nice.
Overall it was a beautiful experience, some things were better than others, but loved our stay...
Read moreIf you don't wanna read too much then I have one sentence: this is the place to be in Sharm el sheikh. This hotel and resort has the best view with beautiful beach and pools. Now if you like to read then here it is: The moment we get into the Hotel, we were welcomed by the staff and especially by Mr Ramadan the supervisor! He made out trip to be honest. We checked in by 4 p.m. after lunch time but Mr Ramadan insist to prepare us a meal and delievered it to our room before dinner time. We booked all inclusive and that includes hard and soft drinks and 3 main course with a lot of snacks. Hotel has 2 big pools for adults and one small of children and they also have a beautiful beach downstairs. The animation team was awesome! Every day New program. They make your day goes smooth and faster. We made a lot of friendship with the team including Sonia, pepsi and Mohammad and others. All are friendly. The view we had from our room is astonishing and you can not describe it with words. Mr Ramadan also offered us seafood dish for our rooms as a gesture from the hotel. We were there during Ramadan time but we were treated with full respect and they served us hard drink with no hard feelings. We were there for 5 nights and we enjoyed every single night of it. The hotel is near to old souk and you can also take a mini van to major sites in sharm. You can feel safe and secure in the hotel with no problems at all. If I would go again to Sharm this Hotel will be my destination again for sure. I also recommended this hotel for my family and friends. I just wanna add that the rooms might looks older than other hotels but you are not gonna stay in your room I promise!! You gonna have the best moments of your life in this hotel
I give them 15/10 for their hospitality 7/10 for room furniture 10/10 for their animation team 15/10 for beach and pool cleanliness 8/10 for food (variety of foods are available) 15/10 for the time we spent there. Highly...
Read moreThis resort was average but was brought down to atrocious by diarrhoea causing food that resembles dog food. Let me explain. The pool is so shallow, at around 135cm, meaning you couldn't possibly enjoy a good swim. The beach is down below for which you need to take an elevator down, this isn't a huge problem. The problem arises in the fact that the beach is open to guests from the sister hotel, Albatross aqua park. This means that by the time you get to the beach, all the beach chairs and umbrellas that are closeby are taken. You will need to walk abit further to get chairs. Since there is only one beach cafe(area serving the drinks), you'll need to walk quite abit to refill on drinks, since you will be seated away from this area. The rooms are average, definitely not what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. This all is tolerable. What is not tolerable, however, is the downright DISGUSTING food you get served for every meal, see pictures attached. At breakfast, the confectionary range is disappointing, poor quality. There is no fresh fruit juice, everything is just concentrate. The omelettes are okay, some mornings they were watery. The pancakes were raw. Each and every day. For lunch, the choice was a watery Tomatoe based pasta, or a burger where the patty isn't cooked and the bun is hard. On some days the salad for the burger got finished and just wasn't replaced. For dinner, your choices are so limited again, the food is terribly presented, lacks taste, and worst of all, is not fresh. My partner and I had diarrhoea the entire week of our trip. I even complained on numerous occasions but this wasn't resolved. I guess you can't teach someone how to cook. It may sound trivial, but food plays a vital role in your holiday. There are so limited restaurants nearby the resort, so you are stuck eating what undercooked foods they serve. Definitely doesn't...
