Tucson Steak House — Restaurant in Antiguo Cuscatlán

Good not great!

I visited this place two times in a day, for lunch and dinner. This happened on Wednesday May 30th 2024. I have to mention that the previous day there were several power outages in the area and this might have impacted my overall experience at this place.

For Lunch, it was not bad at all. The waiter did let me know in advance that due to the power outage and the fact that they opened recently for the day (It was around 12:30), the service was a bit slower than normal. For Lunch I ordered:

1.- Tuna and Salmon Tartare (5 stars). 3 perfect layers of Salmon, Avocado and Tuna garnished with fried onion on top. It is served over an aji amarillo sauce and it comes with eggplant chips. This dish was amazing.

2.- Grilled Rib Eye (3 stars). I am not sure if the grillers were not working at its best, but the steak despite looking good in the pictures, was not perfectly grilled. It didn't feel hot at all and in fact, since it is served over a cast iron plate, you would expect some sizzling noises but none. As a side note, the steak itself was good quality.

3.- Grilled Vegetables (3 stars). Very similar to what happened with the steak.

For Dinner, I didn't even consider taking pictures. The service was just bad and not because of the waiter. The place was super crowded that there was even a line outside. Then, inside of the restaurant it was super hot. It seemed to be that the AC was not working properly. I ordered a Grilled Salmon and it took them almost an hour to bring it to the table. The waiter was nice enough to bring double portion of Caesar Salad.

The bill, I paid $57 USD for the 3 dishes mentioned above. No drinks. There is a 10% tip already included.

I came with high expectations for this Steakhouse but it was a bit disappointing. My steak was not grilled enough, so I have to grill this...

Four stars just because the food was good but not great. One steak needed more seasoning, the other had way too much grease. Should be lower stars when all they put its the 6oz steak and a small portion of fries in the plate. It earns another star for location. Great ambient, which its a big part of the eating experience, and super great location. Im going to try to figure out if i can post a video, but location its amazing here. Best part of San Salvador, beatifull mall, and a clean and safe area. This is the salvador i would like to see the rest of the country to be like. Please, if you in salvador, make it here so you can enjoy a nice meal. For locals, its way too expensive. My wife and I were celebrating 19 year anniversary so we wanted to go to a special place where we have not been before and had meet in the menu. We decided to go to La Gran Vía mall and once there we chose Tucson. Tucson is no cheap place but food is delicious. The guy who took care of us during the time we were was great.
