🐟 Fish Soup This is their signature dish - and a true Faroese specialty you probably won’t find elsewhere. For those who didn’t get to try the signature fish soup at Mykines Stova while visiting Mykines Island, this place offers a great chance to make up for it. Though the flavors differ slightly, both soups share a base of curry, cream, and fish broth, with chunks of fish, carrots, and cabbage. Equally delicious. After a long, chilly day of hiking, this warm bowl of soup was pure happiness. 🥣💛
🥐 Shrimp Croissant Another specialty dish. Cold shrimp 🍤 tossed in salad dressing, with cucumber strips, cherry tomatoes, and lettuce - feels more like a breakfast-style shrimp salad. The croissant 🥐 has a slightly sweet, flaky texture that pairs beautifully with the shrimp.
🥔 Baked Potato Ordered mainly to make sure we wouldn’t leave hungry. Potatoes were nicely cooked with a good texture and seasoned with salt. The chili mayo on the side was mild - not very spicy at all. Some diners might not even notice the spice 🌶️.
☕ Hot Chocolate A must-have for kids, especially in the cold Faroese winter. A cup of hot chocolate instantly boosts your energy. However, the version here is quite rich and sweet - might need a little dilution if you’ve got a sensitive stomach.
Overall, this place is still pretty solid and also serves breakfast. 🚗 There are parking spots right outside, but since this is a restaurant hub, spaces may be hard to come by. Fortunately, public parking nearby is just a short walk away.
Staff were very polite and attentive - one even brought us an extra set of cutlery so we could share and try everything. If you're not ordering alcohol, the overall value for money is still...
Read moreI had a very good experience at this place. My friend and I arrived just after noon after a long hike. This was our first time in Klaksvik, and I definitely want to come back again, was just a lovely experience all around, and this lovely Cafe helped with that.
They had just stopped serving breakfast when we got there, so the cook herself came up and told us some options she was working on. I got the soup of the day and a plate of faroese tapas, as well as a spicy hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was actually spicy, which made me so happy (it's all syrup and sugar in America, this one actually tasted like it had real ingredients and was DELICIOUS). The soup of the day was a vegetable base with mussels and prawns, also delicious and very filling. The Faroese tapas plate was all locally grown/caught and traditional food and it was amazing in my opinion. It was similar to a cheese/meat plate, and there were sauces and garnishes with every selection that matched very well. Drooling just remembering it.
I'd highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to try a selection of faroese food or just enjoy a good cup of coffee in a...
Read moreWent here for dinner . I'm veggie, they had carrot soup with bread and roasted veg with bread - which again was carrots. Mostly carrots and onions and some peppers. I asked what the veg was before ordering but was not given an answer except seasonal vegetables. Ok thanks for that! Maybe they did t know the names in English but they could have shown me. I'd have said no onions if had been told. Was not offered adaptation of other dishes. Soup was nice and the bread with both dishes. I'd have given the veggies a miss though. Atmosphere was nice, staff and owner were friendly. It's very strange that there are vegan sections in supermarkets but very little on offer in places that serve food not a reflection of this establishment but an observation as a whole. If I visit the Faroes again I'd eat here again. I can't give...
