We had a takeout in fiji due to being served really well in Sydney thinking that food and service would be same as it’s owned by the owners brother. The takeout we got included duck, lamb and nakai curry, dhal, rice and roti. This was so so so disappointing. Dhal was watery- it just made us feel if they forgotten how dhal is made, duck - we bought 3 x portions worth $30 which only consisted of half of the smallest takeout container. It felt like duck curry had all the bones only especially the rib portions. Looks like what dine in gets as a complement or at a very low price was all charged, e. g. rice, roti and dhal. Nakai was so small, surprised that people are even allowed to sell these and it was just so chewy. One cannot chew it to pieces , you either had to swallow or just spit it out. Overall just disappointed and disgusted. I am so surprised to see people have given them 5 star but then most ratings are based on dine in. We rang the owner to express our disappointment but he spoke few seconds and then said that he was in a meeting and will call back which he didn’t. Just needed to write this review so that people from overseas do their homework well and get recommendations from friends and family to go and get food from where you feel happy and satisfied at...
Read moreAmazing curry. Quick and good service... until the bill was being settled. Ripped customers off... charged customers with unadvertised prices, and when asked to itemise bill, rationalised the item costs.
Every curry (small serve/ large serve), as advertised on board, is served with roti and Dahl.
When they served our meals (four people), they charged us separately for meat/ roti/ rice... a meal that should not have exceeded $80 was quoted to be $178.00 at one point. Only after I reasoned and argued with them did they start back down on the price... to $117, then $107...
In the end, I paid them $100, which was already at least $30 more than what we should have paid, for what we ate.
I grew up in Suva, but have lived in Sydney for the past 19 years. From appearance, I’m a tourist. However, I don’t think anyone, regardless of their residency status, should be ripped off. I took friends and family for a good meal, had great intentions of promoting Fiji as a great place to visit, and complimented the food multiple times. When we were treated so poorly at the end, I was disappointed and angry.
I will not...
