Ravintola Curry Palace — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

I have been a regular customer here for more than 2 years by now. I have been visiting with my colleagues every now and then. The owner is rude to his customers but I have been ignoring this until now. Today, however, I went there with my wife and she by mistake put pork on her plate (she does NOT eat pork) and had to leave the plate and she took another plate. The owner saw this and started complaining about this in a very rude way . My wife apologized about this and for wasting food. When I went to pay the bill. he charged us extra (+1 person), although it is a buffet and one of his employees were eating from my wife's wasted food when we were leaving. (We went there a bit late than usual lunch time in Finland and by the time we were leaving, his employees were having lunch). I told him that this is my last time I am coming to this restaurant. He didn't seem bothered at all. I would never go to this...

I grabbed lunch here during a normal Wednesday lunch hour, lots of available seating and a peaceful atmosphere. I came to try this place out as my Indo-Asian co-worker suggested to try this place out as this is the closest to what he'd describe as "proper" indian food you can get in Helsinki. Maybe it was just the menu that day, but the main courses unfortunately underwhelmed me. Like yeah, it was tasty, good, and had so much to choose from, but alas, something just didn't click unfortunately. But to soften the blow, I gotta give it to them, the naan, fruit punch and the dessert they offered were really punching above their weight class.

I'll most likely try to spin the wheel again next week to see if I just happened to have my lunch on an inopportune time.

To summarize, if you like Indian food, or would like to try it, definitely give this a chance. I hope my visit was...

Harvoin minulla on asiaa Leppävaaraan, mutta olin ajatellut tänään poiketa syömässä Curry Palacessa pitkän tauon jälkeen. Omistaja lienee vaihtuneen? :( Mutta tämän päivän kokemuksen jälkeen olen varma siitä, etten aio palata koskaan ko paikkaan. Suosittelen kuitenkin paikan omistajana (?) olevaa vanhaa, lyhyttä miestä vaihtamaan alaansa - asiakaspalvelu ei ole hänen "juttunsa" saati sitten vahvuutensa.

En halua kuitenkaan arvostella tarjoilijoita, vaan he yrittivät toimia asianmukaisesti, vaikka kuvailemani mies häiritsi ruokarauhamme lisäksi heidänkin työntekoaan.

Tänään sisään astuttuani kassan takana oli vanha, lyhyt mies "vastaanottamassa" minua ja seuralaisiani ja kysyi heti, mitä me haluamme syödä. En ollut edes ehtinyt hengähtää ja ruokahaluni ehti mennä niin tympeän vastaanoton takia, että lopuksi söin seurueeni kanssa puoli väkinäisesti, kun emme kohteliaisuuksissamme kehdanneet tehdä U-käännöstä aulassa boikotiksi. Vertailun vuoksi, olen käynyt ko paikassa aikaisemmin syömässä, ja silloin tarjoilija asianmukaisesti ohjasi pöytään, antoi menun ja lisäksi tunnelma oli lämminhenkinen. Tällä kertaa jouduin kuulustelun omaisesti kertomaan tilaukseni heti kassalla.

Joka tapauksessa edellä mainittu mies tuli jonkun ajan kuluttua pöytäämme "pörräämään" (taas, mutta tällä kertaa) alkoi kysellä, olemmeko valmiita, vaikkei ravintolassa ollut lainkaan ruuhkaa. Olettaisin, että ravintola-alalla oleva henkilö ymmärtäisi katsoa haarukkani ja veitseni asennosta, olenko valmis vai en. Vastasin kuitenkin kohteliaasti, että emme ole valmiita. Sama mies kuitenkin jatkoi pöytämme ympärillä pörräämistä, että päätimme häipyä saman tien, vaikka olimme aikeissa tilata aterian päätteeksi jälkiruokaa, jonka unohdimme mainita siinä "alkukuulustelussa".

En tiedä, mistä moinen ylimielisyys maksavia asiakkaita kohtaan. Kuten aikaisemmissa arvosteluissa mainittiin - on olemassa korvaavia paikkoja, joissa asiakaspalvelu on...
