New arrival in Munkkiniemi. Royal Pokhara is serving traditional Nepalese dishes in classic environment. List is long and options for all tastes. Also some ready menus.

I enjoyed nice combination of butter chicken with vegetables. As my diet is low carb, I wanted to skip rice and normally served naan bread which are included to normal portions.

Food is delicious, and portions are good in size. After a little chat with the owner I found out that they can arrange also private occasions there for big groups. Lunch is served on weekdays. Had lunch (8,80€) here. Food was ok, service fast (since quite empty) but customer service a bit confusing due to lack of language skills by the older gentleman. The dish was overall a bit tasteless, the salad cheap and the salad sauce clearly from a some cheap ready-made bottle. The naan was ok, although baked a bit too short and too greasy on top.

There are a lot of Nepalese restaurants in Helsinki that are cheaper, but this one is ok if you need one around Vuosaari. Otherwise I'd head to one in central Helsinki (Kantipur, Himalaya, Base Camp,...

We found this restaurant accidentally on a Sunday evening when everything else in the area was closed. What a fantastic discovery! Myself and my boyfriend are from Birmingham in UK, which is famous for its Balti Triangle and has a large Indian community. We have tried many different types of Indian food - good and bad.
