EDIT: I need to alter the reciew I gave 6 months ago. TL;DR: beware if you have any food intolerances or allergies.
In the past few months, I’ve repeatedly gotten the wrong toppings on my pinzas. Usually it’s just a topping missing, which is annoying but not dangerous per se. But on two different occasions my vegan pinzas have come with a heavy load of dairy-based cheese. The second incident was luckily visible as soon as I opened the lid of the box. But the first incident scared the bejeebers out of my dairy-allergic bottom, as I had already taken a few bites when I suddenly noticed my vegan pinza had burrata on it. 🤦🏼♀️
The staff is always sorry and comes up with solutions like ”we’ll give you a gift card” or ”we’ll replace your pinza if you’re free to pick a new one up”. I appreciate the idea of trying to fix something, but I feel like the staff doesn’t really understand why I bought the pinza to begin with: to fulfill my appetite and usually to eat with my friends or with my spouse. Like, at the same time with them. A gift card or a new 30-minute run to the restaurant while my friends are eating their pinzas is not really the solution I’m looking for nor the service I thought I was paying for.
I can tolerate a hiccup here and there like a normal person, but this has become a habit more than a hiccup for this outlet. Maybe we need to try out the other Uuno outlets and see if they also have a very creative take on vegan toppings or if they follow the normal interpretation of the concept.
This was my original review 6 months ago:
As a gluten free milk allergic person, one is used to getting some disappointing flavors in just about every restaurant that’s not exclusively catering for gluten-free vegans. I was extremely surprised to find the ”Tomppa” to be hands down the best pizza I’ve had since my food intolerances kicked in. Heck, it probably beat even the normal pizzas I had the past before the intolerances.
The crust is to die for, and I don’t know how such basic ingredients such as tomatoes, garlic and basil could be so beautifully blended together. As a testament to my awe, we got our first Uuno pizzas via Wolt – and went back to the restaurant for a do-over the...
