You can't get better value for money anywhere else! I paid only 165 euros (including taxes) for one night in May and I got an excellent junior suite with a furnished balcony and an own electric sauna in this centrally located hotel. However, the best part of my junior suite was the stunning sea view to the Bay of Lauttasaarensalmi, the Crusell Bridge (read separate Tripadvisor reviews of it) and the Ruoholahti Canal (read separate Tripadvisor reviews of it, too). There was a big window even in the bathroom!||There are obvious reasons for cheap prices. This is a small hotel with only 13 rooms and there isn't any staff in the hotel. So there aren't any reception services or breakfast in the hotel. You only get a key code by e-mail or by text message 30-60 minutes before check-in time. It was quite hard to find the main door of the hotel but after that everything worked well. For your notice, the entrance is situated on the street corner of Länsisatamankatu 16 and Martin Wegeliuksen kuja.||Lack of breakfast isn't any problem. You find a small shared kitchen and a big shared living room with three microwave ovens, electric kettles and a coffee machine in the hotel. Besides, I had a fridge and a freezer in my room. There are also several cafeterias and restaurants near the hotel. There is also a shared laundry room in the hotel.||I stayed in the junior suite alone but it is ok for 2-3 people, too. You find two beds and a single sofa bed chair in the junior suite. You can enjoy self-adjustable air conditioning, a portable air-conditioning machine, a television, a big shower, an electric sauna and a large balcony in the junior suite. The hotel is situated on the 5th floor (or on the 4th floor if the ground floor is 0) and so you can see the panorama of Ruoholahti area.||Actually Hiisi Hotel is located at the border of Ruoholahti and Jätkäsaari, on the bank of Ruoholahti Canal, on the side of Jätkäsaari. The hotel is situated within walking distance of the city center (2.5 kilometers from the central railway station and the Esplanade Park). Jätkäsaari is the new residential area of Helsinki. You find beautiful new houses, cozy parks, scenic walking routes and interesting restaurants there. There are still some construction works in Jätkäsaari but the area surrounding the hotel is ready and you won't hear any noise there.||I only had two problems in Hiisi Hotel. Windows were quite dirty and they should be cleaned. Secondly I didn't like the smell of the liquid hand soap (actually it was said to be fragrance-free). So you see that I only had minor problems and this hotel is almost perfect if you don't mind the lack of service. However, final cleaning is included in room prices.||I really recommend that you should book this junior suite and enjoy the stunning view. Besides, it is wonderful to sit at the balcony and enjoy the architecture of the Crusell Bridge and bright...

If you're looking for a truly "unique" room configuration for a group stay, this hotel might just surprise you — but not in a good way. We booked a stay for 6 people (4 adults + 2 kids) through Expedia for 3 nights, including my elderly parents. Nowhere in the listing was it mentioned that the “combined” room offering would be anything but standard. Had we known what it actually entailed, we would never have booked it.
To our shock, this "combined" room setup included two separate rooms — but only one had a toilet and shower :O. The second room, roughly 10 sqm, was essentially a matchbox with beds, and no attached bathroom. Anyone staying in that room had to either go through the corridor to use the bathroom in the other room or access a shared toilet in the guest area. This arrangement was beyond anything I’ve encountered in all my years of traveling. Typically, when you book two rooms, by default either each has its own bathroom or they’re connected in some practical way.
When I contacted customer support, I was met with a completely unhelpful and dismissive representative who just kept repeating that this was their "combined offering" and nothing could be done. To me, offering a hotel room without a private bathroom — and not being transparent about it — is beyond regular human comprehension. They should have made this tiny room as a store room or whatever, but never sell it as a combined offering as its totally impractical.
Eventually, I spoke to another representative who was at least a bit more empathetic. She offered to sell me a new room (this one did have a toilet, wow), but at an additional cost — despite the inconvenience and stress this whole situation had caused. She claimed to have given me a “good discount,” in her offer, which I had no choice but to take. However, honestly, this felt anything but a genuine Customer experience.
Overall, a very disappointing and stressful experience. If you value basic comforts like privacy and a bathroom in your room, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere for accommodation...
Read moreIt is located next to a modern bridge that joins together two severed by a sea gulf parts of the land of the city. The gulf is schemed as a wide river entering inside the city. Perfect view from the hotel, at least from my room, to this sea gulf and the bridge. A few personnel' staffed hotel, friendly, a small breakfast room but offering almost everything expected for a breakfast, a newly decorated, are some of the features of the hotel. A problem is that it does not offer a meal (as I understood), surely it does not offer a dinner and this is a problem as there are no restaurants or markets in the nearby area. My room, despite it was a bit small, it was clean. Maybe a chair was needed, as there were only an armchair and a stood therein. The bath needed some repair, i.e. there was only a glass wall instead of three in need to close the bath as a distinct part from the whole bathroom. ||You have to walk at about 200 meters to the station of tram number 9 that takes you, with frequent routes, directly to the central rail station where is also the center of the town, an about 10 - 15 minutes route. Also, tram 8, outside of the hotel takes you to other attractions from a different of tram 9 route, parts of the town. ||The price of stay could have been...
