Urban Bistro — Restaurant in Jyväskylä sub-region

The best thing about this place was service - nice and welcoming. The venue was cosy with nice interior. We went for a dinner, which was not bad but not really good either - nothing special and could've been done better. Wine selection was quite disappointing: I wanted a glass of champagne, they only sell bottles. I tried two different sparkling wines, both were just plain bad. This is a bit odd since they go by a phrase "wine and friends".

As for the food, we ordered an all-day brunch plate and a salmon and shellfish board. The brunch plate seemed, on the menu, to be quite a lot but was actually a really small portion after all. I was hungry again probably an hour after. The salmon and shellfish board was lacking toppings, there were just a small stripe of them in the middle. Both were nicely plated though.

We got a bowl of popcorn while waiting for the food, so when I got to the dessert part of my brunch plate, I felt let down a bit when it was - again - popcorn, with some caramel, whipped cream and couple of berries. Laid back and casual atmosphere.

My friend and I stopped by to have some coffee. There was a good alcoholic and non-alcoholic drink selection with about as much type of (faster) food, and though coffee was not listed anywhere the staff assured me that they served it too. We could choose from three mug sizes. We took lattes (vanilla and cinnamon) in the largest, that looked something like 4 dl. The one staff at the time was helpful. The place was decorated with caricature drawings of men and women and the toilet had several condom dispenser (which I thought was considerate). I have visited this restaurant three times. I had the boards and they are very delicious. It's not very rich in terms of toppings but still very delicious. They offer student prices for the wine and the food so it was very affordable as well. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff is very kind.
