Jyväskylä Art Museum — Attraction in Jyväskylä sub-region

I visited here on a Friday when the museum is free to all guests. At the time, the exhibition Überhund was going and the collection included some really interesting pieces including items nearly 1500 years old, and some pieces that really spoke to my heart. The staff is very welcoming and they make reading material available in Finnish, Swedish, and English so it is very accessible. It's also not a huge museum so it's an easy 30-60 minute stop during your day. I would recommend it to anyone, followed by a visit to the cafe in the town church square.

This is an excellent contemporary art museum. While the space is not big, the gallery is surprising spacious and airy. The exhibitions which they had on display when we visited were very good and interesting. I would definitely recommend visiting the contemporary art gallery when you are in town. The museum shop is also worth a stop if you are looking for quirky and cool gift ideas...
