I wanted to make sure that my visit to Finland included the chance to try local foods. This is absolutely the place to do it. Keep in mind that this isn’t the place to go if you’re on a budget, but if you’re looking to spoil yourself with a delicious and well presented wild game dinner - this is it. Our table had a variety of plates, but I went with the Voyage of the Northern Lights, which included a main course of reindeer tenderloin. Coming from Canada and having eaten venison and elk, I was expecting something similar. The tenderloin was beautifully cooked and presented with a chanterelle sauce and potato cake over cooked root vegetables in a modern method of preparation of Viking food. I cannot judge if this is authentic or just made up for tourists, but besides the viking-like atmosphere, the food was extremely good. The food matches the theme, and tastes great. On the not so awesome side, it's a reservation based restaurant, but it's understandable due to how limited the space is, and how much effort is required to be put into creating the experience.
