I was really looking forward to dining at Psta after hearing so many good things, especially from my fiancée, who had visited twice before and had positive experiences. However, our recent visit, unfortunately, did not live up to expectations.
We ordered the “Scampi, Saffron & Tagliatelle” for my fiancée and the “Iberico & Rigatoni” for myself. The first disappointment was the wait—45 minutes for our food to arrive. While everything looked appetizing, my dish was cold, and my fiancée's was barely lukewarm. Not a great start.
The “Scampi, Saffron & Tagliatelle,” a dish my fiancée had enjoyed before, seemed to have changed in recipe, as it was nearly tasteless this time. The saffron was the only noticeable flavor, which overwhelmed the rest of the dish. As for my “Iberico & Rigatoni,” while the flavors were okay, the pasta was too al dente for my liking, and half of the pork pieces were chewy and tough. Despite this, I was hungry enough to eat my meal, but my fiancée, unfortunately, didn’t feel like continuing with hers.
On the positive side, the portions were fair, and while I understand Psta has raised their prices recently, they still seemed reasonable. The location and atmosphere are cosy, but our table placement next to the bar and right against another couple made it feel less intimate than we had hoped for a dinner out.
One highlight of the evening was the service. The staff were friendly and attentive, though they did struggle a bit with describing the dishes in English. It wasn’t a big issue, but it did add a small layer of confusion to the experience.
Overall, while we didn’t have the best experience, I hope Psta takes this as constructive feedback. Tampere is in need of more quality pasta restaurants, and with Psta being so close to us, we’d love to see it improve. We’ll likely give it another try next year in the hope that it lives up to the positive reputation it seems to have...
Read moreI have visited PSTA a couple of times for lunch and I have to say I absolutely love it.
The atmosphere is the first thing you notice about the place as it is incredibly inviting, cozy and unite. It certainly gives PSTA a clear distinction among other restaurants in town.
As I visited only for lunch, I can only comment about the daily options available throughout a couple of visits. I have found them to always be very pleasant and I like there are always 3 options to chose from. At the moment the price is set to the maximum daily limit of the lunch benefit which makes payment easier to deal with.
As for the food itself, I have found it to be very savory and cooked very well. The portion size has been right for me. There is also a side salad which could use a little bit more imagination and a spread for the bread.
Service is very friendly and during rush hour it can take a while. Make sure to account for that if you...
Read moreLet's start of with the positive, the service is superb and I really enjoyed the atmosphere even though it was a bit cramped, the tiramisu was also nice while the bruschetta confused me as it was a olive bruschetta not the usual tomato one but it was nice. I ordered the pasta with the clam and it was okay to eat but nothing I would come back for, it was sadly a bit too salty and had jalapenos and chilis but overall only tasted like salt, herbs and chilli while I also ended up with a puddle of sauce after I ate it. Also accidentally bit on a clam shell as some of them broke off and ended up weirdly mixed into the pasta which...
