Le Jardin "En mode Chalet" 🗻 — Restaurant in Abbeville

A great restaurant to enjoy a meal with friends and family in a pleasant and relaxed environment. Dietary requirements are well catered for with clear labels for gluten or lactose as well as vegetarian. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient plus my booking through Google worked and we were even able to dine earlier on a busy Saturday lunchtime. The food is not cheap but reasonably priced and made simpler with a small number of covers. Our Le (Thai red) Curry was tasty and available with shrimp or as vegetarian. Although there was a vegan symbol on the menu, I did not see this marked against any dishes. It would have been nice to enjoy a more traditional French meal but this seemed to be mainly beef or as vegetarian catch of the day which were a bit more expensive. Not sure what to say except I was a bit disappointed of our dining experience there. The waitress took the time to describe the menu which was nicely done. My starter was the Peruvian ceviche and main course was the scallops. The ceviche completely destroyed by the acidity of the lime cream. I could hardly even taste the fish. We had ordered two glasses of wine which never arrived. We also waited wayyy too long for our main courses, half an hour for it and the result was too disappointing. The best note would go to the Irish Gourmand that my partner ordered. Shame because the place is really well decorated. I guess it was an off night for the team. They seemed a bit lost and...

Excellent food and great service. The set menu for 50 euros per person comes with a glass of wine for starter and main courses, and we added another with the main, all very reasonable. The food itself was delicious (foie gras starter and chateaubriand main) but so much that we didn't have room for our desserts (shame - another time!) The wine went very well with our food choices. Only small criticism is we were at a table right next to the fire. If there had been four of us, it would have been unbearable for the person in that seat.
