Restaurant l'Horizon — Restaurant in Abbeville

We were walking in Ault and we decided to stop by this restaurant to have dinner. The service was kind and they gave us a table even without reservation. We had a starter of crudites (raw fish) with oyster, prawns, seefood and it was really good. I took instead the gratin mussels and they were too much creamy. The sauce overcome completely the taste of the fish that was lost. After we had a cod with Chorizo and also there the chorizo overcome completely the taste of the fish and I had a Dorade a la Provencal that was too much buttery. The quality of the fish was good but the cooking could be less greasy. The atmosphere is great, the restaurant has windows in front of the sea. Just magnifique! From the service to the view and just a symphony on your plate. Just book a table and experience it. Even the ice cream coupe was beautifully balanced and delicious. I never order such a desert, but this time it felt right with the beautiful sea view and I was just so surprised by the great taste. The highlight of the meal was the side by the fish, the carrot puré with orange. Oh my! If you can get the greens right like that, it’s a great restaurant....

2 mai 2025 repas décevant et attitude du restaurateur inadmissible Nous étions 4 convives espérant passer un agréable déjeuner dans ce restaurant à la bonne réputation. Malheureusement il n'en fut rien. Nous avions commandé 2 turbos et 2 lottes Rien à redire quant aux turbos mais il n'en fut pas de même pour les lottes qui s'avèrerent spongieuses et élastiques, vraisemblablement mal préparées et trop cuites. Les 2 assiettes ayant été retournées en cuisine pour échange Nous dûmes attendre fort longtemps avant que les "nouvelles " assiettes soient servies. Nous avions fini les turbos quand enfin les assiettes firent leur apparition, nous laissant beaucoup de doute sur leur contenu. L'une d'entre elles fût d'ailleurs desservie non dégustée. Nous présentant au bar pour régler les repas, le restaurateur nous a demandé si nous étions satisfaits. Devant notre réponse négative, celui-ci nous a pris de haut, faisant valoir que son chef était un "Escoffier " et que nous ne savions pas cuisiner et déguster les poissons. Il aurait été certainement plus judicieux pour lui de faire amende honorable et de s'excuser. Nous n'aurons plus "l'honneur " de revenir dans ce restaurant et inviterons tous nos amis à...
