My wife and I recently had lunch at Restaurant d’Amour on Cours Mirabeau, one of the main walking boulevards in Aix-en-Provence, France. Even though it was busy when we arrived for lunch at 12:30 PM, we were placed at a nice two-seater bistro table on the terrace under the large outdoor awning. Even though our table was small and there were many patrons at the time, we didn’t feel cramped. We both order Aperol Spritz for drinks, which has become our go-to libation during this vacation in France. My wife ordered the spicy tuna tartar, with avocado, which she said was outstanding. Her side dishes were rice and green beans, which were fresh and flavorful and served warm in an oil-based dressing. I ordered the salmon which was cooked in Miso and ginger, and it was excellent. I ordered the same side dishes and truly enjoyed them. The service was excellent as was the general ambiance of the restaurant. The French enjoy an abundance of restaurants, but this is one to which I...

I was here a few days ago. I sat in the back and ate two appetizers that were perfect. I happened to have a front row view of the kitchen. It was impressively serious, spotlessly clean and clearly well run. The service could simply not have been better. Everyone was professional, timely and helpful without being overbearing. I will be back again and again. This is one of the better experiences I have had in all of Aix for years. Check out the back room if the terrace is full. It’s very well designed and has a little chalet...

The fries are ok for frozen fries.

The rigatoni pasta are less than average. Luckily, the bread, the bottled sauces and the valeriana salad were good - it showed they were not made in house.

The beef tartar is processed and has the texture of a paste. It was not seasoned at all. Maybe this is a different way of making it, but definitely not our cup of tea.

The waitress noticed we did not eat the beef, but ignored us. The waiter was nicer and offered 2 shots on the house only after asking...

Good food and service. I had a great avocado salad, chicken cutlets pounded thin & seared, plus and French fries, which the waiter insisted I try in France! They were good, but not crispy like those at home. It’s located right on the town’s central avenue, so it’s an awesome place to people watch. Almost all the seating is outdoors and many of the patrons were smoking, something I realize is done in France but not done at home. I don’t care for that.

food was incredibly good, unfortunately I cannot say the same about the service. We waited for someone to take our orders for almost 40 minutes, noone was around so we couldn’t ask anyone to come either:( And even though we had reserved a table about 3 weeks in advance, they gave us a pretty bad seating while it was raining.
