A Cantina Di Ghjulia — Restaurant in Ajaccio

We wanted to love this restaurant based on the menu, the ambiance and very friendly service. However, we really cannot reconcile the prices of the main dishes with what we received. While the quality is undoubtedly high, the scallop and courgette penne consisted of at most three scallops and five shreds of courgette skin - the rest was pasta in cream. The prawn spaghetti was generally lacking in flavour and the spaghetti itself was barely cooked (definitely not al dente). Their heaviness made us both quite sick afterwards. To put it politely: meh... Food isn't really bad but both our dishes were very bland and nothing special. Mediocre food that doesn't the prices. Also our salad wasn't washed properly so there was a lot of sand in it. But what was not okay was the fact that we waited more than 1 1/2 hours on our food! And no apologies either. I don't know if this is a french or specific corse thing but they were a little to nonchalant about having us sit there forever to get a plate of pasta and some beans. I really wanted to like this place but I cannot recommend it at all....

Franchement déceptif au regard des plats principaux et du presque 40€ pour un plat de pâtes. Mais d’un côté si on voulait tester des produits de la mer ce n’était que des pâtes partout en guise d’accompagnement, même pas de poisson et vous enlevez déjà 2 plats sur les 4 proposés en raison de la saisonnalité. Le choix était donc drastiquement réduit dès le départ. Accueil familial et belles décorations mais omniprésence de la tenancière qui a passé beaucoup trop de temps à rester à nous parler à table plutôt que nous laisser profiter de notre repas tranquillement, à tel point que nous avons dû lui répéter que nous souhaitions commander la suite pour retrouver notre intimité. Dommage car plats typiques et en bonne quantité avec le respect des produits mais qui peut vite virer attrape touriste selon le plat « choisi » parmi ce qu’il reste.
