L'allegria — Restaurant in Alès

In short: DONT go here if you love pizza. Just don’t, you’ll thank me… I normally don’t write a review when waiting, because it’s just antisocial to do so. For this restaurant an exception was made, because I was too bored waiting.

We reserved a table for a party of eight, and after seating it took about 15 minutes for the waitress to take an order. That was an hour ago.

Meanwhile the takeaway pizzas are being picked up (15 minutes waiting time), but no sign of our food or the simple question of we want another round of drinks. It’s about 37 degrees tonight.

Cocktails are cheaply priced and taste like it.

Small terrace near the road with decent chairs. It’s a nice place especially during the evening market on Tuesday.

Subpar staff, that literally don’t give you a look.

Update: pizza arrived after 1.15 hours. For the children 1.25 hours. Quality is BAD. It’s a FACTORY pizza bottom which they only top. For the ones that wonder: it’s when you have a flat pizza bottom and you feel the microperferations and/or grooves. All tomato based pizzas taste like margarita with a topping. All cream pizzas taste like noting, literally they’re too bad to even call it a pizza. Shameless!

Miles away from the nearby l’arche camping restaurant where they serve more traditional style pizza and is pretty good (see my review there. This is literally my first two star review and first ever one star for food! Stay away.

Wir haben uns von den Bewertungen leiten lassen. Ich fasse zusammen: Pommes schmeckten nach Fisch, Steak Hache ebenfalls nach Fisch und sah aus wie ein Burger Patty aus dem Supermarkt, das Entrecote war definitiv KEIN Entrecote, Medium Rare bestellt, kam well done. Eher ne Schuhsole. Die Pizza mit Merguez, also die Wurst, war wirklich undefinierbar. Schmeckte wirklich nicht gut. Der Pizzateig bzw. Boden war ok. Die Bedienung war nett, aber nicht wirklich aufmerksam. Vielleicht waren wir auch zur falschen Zeit dort. Die Bilder auf Google waren alle durchweg gut, das was wir bekamen entsprach nicht im geringsten dem, was wir vorher sahen. Abschließend war der Tisch einfach zu klein für vier Personen. Tut mir wirklich leid für diese Bewertung, aber das geht leider wirklich nicht. Achja, nichts schien...

We both had the classic burgers from the menu. They were amazing! Fresh and well made, the fries were also nice. I was doubtfull that the burgerbread would be a standard milkbread bun. This was not the case, they were absolutly fresh...
