Le Cabanon — Restaurant in Alès

My misses wanted to go here because the glasses and tables looked nice. We had Moules Mariniere. It may just have been the night we went but the sauce was massively over salted. Not by a little but by a lot. I commented to the waiter who said 'it may be salty mussels'.....errr, no it was seasoning salt, a heart attack amount! Also a had quite a few mussels not open so could not eat. Each dish was 17.50 euro. 5 more than the bistro next door. That said the service was good to that point. My wife wanted dessert. She likes chocolate and they had chocolate mousse. The waiter suggested it so we did not ask the price as all deserts we have had previously were 5-6 euro. When I got the bill I saw the dessert was 10 euro. Overall, nice atmosphere, interior is done well and tables laid v nice but food was overpriced and on the occasion we went far too salty. Okay, Maybe it's my experience and my garbage luck. But I asked for Calzone Pizza (Folded Pizza) with Tomato and No Mushrooms (I'm allergic to Them)

Then I get my pizza, 1 there wasn't tomato sauce (you could choose between tomato or Some sort of Cheese Creme) and I got the Cheese Creme WITH MUSHROOMS..

I asked if I could change you know.. standard procedure if you get something wrong and I quote

"Just remove the mushrooms form the pizza"

Remind you the pizza is folded and to remove them is to literally destroy my food..

Then I couldn't change the pizza or they couldn't make a new one without Mushrooms so I got a Margarita Pizza.

The food was not very good — the artichokes were rubbery and flavorless and the carpaccio too small a quantity. The prices are ridiculously high for this kind of subpar food. Also, while my boyfriend was placing his wine order, the waiter just left for no apparent reason and didn’t come back for ten minutes.
