I don't normally leave reviews, and it makes me really sad to leave a negative review for a restaurant that used to be my favourite in the whole Tarantaise area. We went for dinner tonight and it's barely recognisable in the atmosphere, menu or food. The service was pretty good, the young waiter was very friendly and was trying very hard, but the menu was strange and the actual food itself was really disappointing. I didn't finish it and I didn't ask to take it home with me. I was a big, big fan of this restaurant and I felt sad leaving it this evening. It's not totally terrible I guess and if you didn't know it before maybe you'd think it was ok. But the atmosphere and everything has changed and sadly not in a good way. They would have been wise to keep a Thai menu but the selection was a bit strange, the flavours and associations were even stranger and the whole thing was just pretty badly cooked. Big shame. I hope they work out it. It was also pretty expensive for...

Me and a few friends went to Cherry Garden for some lunch after seeing it when we were last in Bourg.
We arrived to find it fairly busy for lunch and were seated reasonably fast.
They have a €23 lunch menu for 3 courses which is a great price and the portions are big too.
I ordered the duck Gyoza (€7.50) small squid salad (€9.50) and the beef ramen (€16.00). The Gyoza and the salad were phenomenal, really nice spicy dressing with just the right amount of heat, sweetness and tart. Very well balanced.
The Ramen was fine and the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. However the broth could have had more depth to it. It wasnt simmered overnight but it doesn't change the great experience I had. Just maybe something that could improve.
If you're in Bourg, you should definitely visit here. Very nice food.
They also do sushi on the...
Read moreGreat welcome, great service, great food and drinks.. It's totally laid back and relaxed and provides something different in the area, the Asian inspired dishes are really good and full of taste. You can be forgiven for thinking that the place is run down and derelict but for me at least, it just works, when the lights come on at night it's pretty and magical.
For sure it's not the cheapest in town but for something different, for the friendly service, it's worth it. We spent about 180€ but that was a family of 4, mains, deserts, mocktails, cocktails, bottle of fizz and...
